Chapter 15
I was at the bottom of the stairs when I remembered that Peter had sent me a message through my computer. I raced back up to my bedroom and grabbed my laptop from the nightstand. The sound of Max singing in the shower made me smile.
I headed to the kitchen and opened my laptop to look for Peter’s message while I waited for the coffee to brew. To my surprise, there was nothing there. I scowled. I could have sworn that I saw a message from him before I went to sleep. Was I seeing things now? Was it just wishful thinking because he’d yet to reach out to me? Did I even want him to, now that I knew what I did about him?
I scolded myself as I closed the lid on my computer. I needed to get over Peter once and for all before my mind went crazy and my life was ruined.
