Mama sipped her tea and studied Hester’s face. Despite appearing happier she seemed older. The events of the last months had taken their toll heavily on Hester. More than she let on to anyone. Mama admired Hester. She carried so much within herself. She was not one to share her troubles with others but rather concerned herself with alleviating others troubles.
