Chapter One (Part Two)

“Alpha.” The voice was sweet and she easily recognized it as her other best friend, Myra blindsided her with a hug from the side, her head just an inch lower than Jordyn’s even though she was older.

“Myra.” Jordyn said, feeling a sense of relief wash through her as she took in her short brown hair that just barely came to her jawline. She sported a ring in the right side of her nose that Jordyn didn’t remember being there before she left. Jordyn returned the hug quickly. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too, alpha.” Myra bowed her head at Jordyn.

“Myra, don’t, just Jordyn please.”

A few more familiar faces walked through the door, carrying Jordyn’s luggage. Aaron, Ethan, and Justin all dropped some of her bags on the floor. “Jordyn, you sure have grown up.” Ethan was the first to talk. He sniffed the air quickly and his eyes finally settled on Jillian as he practically growled the word “mate.”

Jordyn rolled her eyes, knowing what to expect but trying to ignore the pain that hit her chest as Ethan stalked over to Jillian. She was pleasantly surprised when Jillian held up a hand in front of Ethan’s face. “Not now, stud, our Alpha’s in pain.”

Silver howled and Vivian whimpered at the reminder of the sudden heartbreak. Jordyn tried to look away from the group but she knew that they wanted an explanation, so she gave it to them, trying to remain with as little emotion as possible. Once her explanation was over she carried her bags to her room, quickly shifting into her wolf form and running once she had set her stuff down. She didn’t care that her clothes got shredded when she shifted, Jade held the door open for her, knowing she needed space and time, she ran until she came to a small lake. She took her time as she glanced over her wolf’s skin. Her pure white fur looked almost as soft as it felt and her now amethyst colored eyes just accentuated her coloring. She loved her wolf’s skin almost as much as she loved her attitude.

‘Silver, we don’t need him, right?’ She could feel her heart breaking again as she questioned her wolf.

‘Not at all, Jordyn, we have each other.’

‘And me.’ Vivian chimed in.

Jordyn stayed in her wolf form, walking through the trees, just strolling along the pack’s border. She had no problem with the pack’s border patrol since they could all feel that she was their alpha, they just greeted her with a curt nod, if they didn’t bare their necks in submission. She just walked around, enjoying the scenery that was once home to her until the sun started to fade and night started to fall. She mind-linked the pack to let them know that they would be choosing a new beta tomorrow before she shifted back to her human form, going inside and laying down to sleep.
