CHAPTER 29| STUCK & SCREWED
The car ride to my apartment is quiet. We're in Miami and it's Sunday morning. I spent the last hour thinking about my relationship with Chase. I can't believe I'm falling in love with my client. Chase was my big case. The case that was gonna get me my own corner office and a promotion. It's still hard to believe that I'd fall in love with him. I can't believe I'm in love with my client.
A few blocks from my apartment, I ask Chase to stop his car. We can't be seen together. It can jeopardize everything. My job, my relationship with him. Everything.
I sigh and look at my neighborhood.
" I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I didn't want to hurt you." Chase says.

I wake up to the smell of coffee, bacon and eggs in the air. Without being told, I know my mom's behind that beguiling aroma. It's Monday morning. The day all of this pretentious act that has to deal with Chase comes to an end. If I'm lucky, today should be a good day for me. Chase left last night and I don't remember him leaving my bedroom. When I woke up at midnight, I found a handwritten note by Chase, telling me he couldn't spend the night and that he had to leave. Attached with beautiful kisses and I love yous. I quickly take a shower and get dressed in a dark grey short sleeve dress. I slip my feet inside my pumps. I add a little natural make up and twirl around in front of my mirror. I look good.
