Chapter Thirteen
Ava.
I left the hospital feeling sad and broken. After spending a few more minutes watching over Avery it was already afternoon and I had lunch with Jayden just before I headed to work.
I walked into the hot sun feeling it heat against my skin. I suddenly regretted wearing this black shirt and washed jeans with blue sandals which I had sewn together many times.
I had left my hair down for once, and it fell on my shoulders in a wavy length. I raised my hand to shield my face from the burning sun and walked down the road heading to a bus stop where I would get a bus to the restaurant I was supposed to meet Jayden.
I stood at the bus stop for a while and the bus came. I hurried in taking a seat by the window and placed my purse on my lap.
