I woke up a few hours later and as I checked the time on my phone to see it was 11am I also noticed a text from Layton asking me to meet him for lunch. Two days later, Layton had messaged me as soon as he was back at the Palace. While he was away, he had messaged me over and over telling me how much he missed me. One Month Later. I woke up grinning from ear to ear, although I was missing the warm body that I had started to get used to waking up to. I had been spending most nights sleeping at Layton’s but last night he still had a lot to get done, now Tina’s sentencing was being dealt with. So I decided to stay at home, and waking up to his morning message telling me he missed me and loved me had me practically skipping to the shower even though I was slightly dreading the situation I was about to drag myself into. I had seen Zara a lot more over the last few weeks. I walked through the quiet village on my way to the field, it was eight at night and Layton had just finished work. The moon shone brightly, and the crisp cool air whipped through me as I hugged my coat tighter to my skin. It has been four weeks since Layton had proposed and, of course, all our family and friends were delighted when we had told them of our news and three weeks ago when it was time for Layton to make the announcement to the rest of the Blue Moon pack everyone from the village and the city had gathered outside the Palace in anticipation to hear who Layton had finally chosen as his Luna. He stepped out onto the balcony that overlooked all of his people as they clapped and cheered for him. He looked back to me and held out his hand for me to join him. I looked in the long floor length mirror as my eyes wandered over my curled hair with a white and blue flower that pinned back the left side of my hair. My long white gown fell around my feet, it wasn’t too long, just long enough to flow behind me when I walked. My makeup was natural nudes with a brown lipstick. After a month of being a Luna, I had started to grow more accepting of my new duties and expectations. I had started to speak up in the meetings I attended with Layton, and I had even held a few meetings of my own to discuss new weaponry we would soon train with, and the extension needed for the packhouse. Layton supported me in every meeting and encouraged me to continue having a strong role in the pack. So far, everyone had shown respect toward me and listened to my ideas and opinions without disregard or rejection. I wasn’t sure if it was out of real respect for me or out of fear of what Layton would do to them, if they dared to upset me in any way.
