Chapter Five
Tess looked at the clock above the mantle. It was after 7 am and Jess wasn't out yet. She was supposed to drop her off at the office of a private investigator that Tersoo, Tess's boyfriend had found for them. It was supposed to be the first day of operation find Mathew and Jess wasn't out yet. Tess had work to get to and didn't appreciate the extra time Jess was going to make her waste.
Theresa marched to Jess's room and barged in, thankfully it was unlocked. Much to her dismay, Jess was still lying in her bed in her pyjamas.
"Jessica Tinuke Coker, what do you think you're still doing in that bed?" Tess's voice rose to a high octave at the last word.
"Oh god." Jess groaned into her pillow.
"I am supposed to drop you off at your PI this morning. Care to explain why you're not ready?"

Lisa almost ran as she made her way to Jordan's room, panicked. Something wasn't right. Lisa looked around, she'd heard footsteps but no one seemed to be behind her. She kept walking but had the feeling again and turned around but yet again, there was no one. It was dark so she couldn't really see beyond a few steps. She picked up her pace and walked as fast as she could.Lisa had caught a ride back home with a colleague that lived a few blocks away from her. She had been working late and when she got out of the office, she met him in the parking lot about to head home and he offered her a ride so she took him up on his offer. Jack drowned his fifth glass of Whiskey that morning. He'd gone back to work the previous day after the fight with Lisa and worked himself to stupor. In his mind, everything was alright. But was he wrong? The next day, he woke up feeling like crap. The engagement party was in a few hours. Jack couldn't bring himself to even pretend that he cared about it.
