It was evening, and I had invited Gabriel to my home. We sat down to discuss the details of his upcoming wedding at the beach, which was two hours away.

“It’s going to be a simple wedding with close friends. We’ve booked hotel rooms for each of you,” Gabriel informed us, giving us all the necessary information. “So, I invited Brandon and Miss Katherine, too.”

I observed Xander’s reactions as Gabriel mentioned Brandon’s name. His expression changed, a hint of jealousy flickering in his eyes. Meanwhile, I rolled my eyes at the mention of Katherine.

“Come on, Aoife. She’s also a friend of yours and Xander’s,” Gabriel replied, winking at us.
