It was evening, and I was busy after office hours with Neeral editing the blogs they will publish soon for their magazine. My phone started buzzing, and I reached to answer.

“Hey, brother,” a familiar voice came from the other end of the phone.

“Hey, Myra, What’s up? Is everything okay?” I asked casually.

“Mom is not feeling well. Dad tried to calm her down, but she wanted to see you,” my sister answered in a lowered tone.

“What happened? Is she okay?”

“It’s been a long time. You promised to come see her. Mom is waiting for you.”

I felt bad. My mom needed me, but for the last few weeks, I got busy saving Xander’s ass from an accident, and then this writing made me forget that I needed to go to see Mom. I backed myself into the chair and raked my hand through my hair from stress.

“Brother, are you there?” Myra asserted.

“Yeah, I am coming now.”
