Chapter Forty Eight

I pulled my hoodie over my head to prevent getting soaked from the rain. I could not remember the last time I felt so nervous. Okay so maybe I did but it had been a while anyway. I arrived at the address Katherine texted me and looked around. The gallery was across the street so I waited for a break in traffic to cross the road. Once I was sure it was free, I stepped unto the road and halfway across was when the car appeared seemingly from nowhere. I didn’t have time to react or think. It all happened too fast.

The car horn was deafening. It screeched to a halt
