Next day...

Immediately I drove into the orphanage, a sense of nostalgia hit me and I inhaled deeply and slowly exhaled, it's been almost twenty-one years since I set foot here after Dad adopted me.

And now that I'm here, I wonder why I didn't think of coming back here when I began searching for Mia, it should have been my first call.

I walked up to the door of the orphanage, feeling a sense of nervousness and anticipation as I prepared to speak to the matron.

I had come all this way to find Mia, and I hope that the matron could give me some information on where to find her, but I didn't know what to expect.

I knocked on the door, and a woman in her mid-fifties answered, her hair a bit grayer than I remembered from my childhood.

"Can I help you?" she asked, her voice stern but not unkind.

"Uh, yes," I said, feeling suddenly awkward. "I was hoping to speak to the matron."

"I am the matron," she said, her eyebrows raised in surprise.

"What can I do for you?"
