The streets were dimly lit, and the stars gradually lost their twinkle as they disappeared behind the thick, gray clouds. A gentle wind, tinged with a hint of chill, brushed against her skin, sending a peculiar tingle down her spine. It took her a moment to realize it wasn't because of the breeze, but the fact that Kyle was still holding onto her hand, and she showed no signs of telling him to let go.

Standing in front of a metal guardrail that separated the land from the shimmering lake, he asked, "Why... Why are you hiding from me, Clover? I don't understand. What did I do wrong?"

"You did nothing wrong," she muttered, finally twisting her wrist to break free from him.

"Then why won't you stay?"

"Because it's not meant to be that way."

"What do you mean by that?" Kyle pointed to his heart, his tears seeping in from the corners of his eyes. "You're everywhere inside here. Without you with me, I can barely keep it beating."

"Kyle, I—"
