"Did he just walk right pass us," I said shocked, watching the familiar figure walk to the far side of the room and lean against a wall.
"Like we don't even exist," Frost exaggerated glaring at him.
"You guys know him," a small voice asked.
"How is he even alive," I asked.
"I'm not sure he is," Frost trailed off narrowing her eyes.
"I don't care who his dad is, I need to have a conversation with him," I said, really having enough surprises.
Frost sighed.
"He's hosting a party tomorrow but it's by invitation only," she explained.
"If your talking about the Privetels Ball, I got an invitation with a plus one," the soft voice said again. I turned and stared at Isaac cautiously.
"You would take a total stranger to a ball," I asked. Isaac nodded.
I opene
"How far did you park your car," I asked Frost as I glanced left and right along the road."I didn't," she muttered."I'm sorry didn't get that," I said sarcastically, staring at Frost."Its nice that you walked all the way here for me but you need to think through your crazy ideas because I'm not carrying you," I stated folding my years."I wasn't going to ask," Frost snipped."You two argue like an old couple," Kat commented drily.Simultaneously Frost and I shushed her. She raised her palms to the air and backed away from the sidewalk."I'm gonna call my friend," she grumbled.Suddenly a black Lamborghini pulled up in front of us. I glanced at Frost meeting her questioning stare. The tinted windows slowly rolled down and my heart skipped a beat."Hi," I
"Wow," I said as I walked unto one of the most beautiful bridge that I'd ever seen with my naked eyes. The bridge was a magnificent obsidian color, it may have actually been obsidian itself. It gleamed under the sunlight, causing the intricate marks carved into it to seem alive."How is it possible that I have never been here before," I said simply amazed by beauty of it all.Chris shrugged watching me with a smile."Not many people come here," he said brusing his hands against the vines on one side of the bridge. The other side had beautiful flowers of all colors and sizes on it. I tilted my head in confusion."This bridge was built when Black Pond was created," he started."Rumors say that there was an argument between the two founding families of the town. They originally called it White Lake because of the rumored
I glanced out the window at a transformed White Lake High. It looked like prom but with a little more of a mature theme. In all honesty it looked like the Queen was going to put in an appearance any minute. I made me wonder."Do supernaturals have royalty," I asked Frost, who sat beside me tapping furiously at her phone screen."Something like that," she responded shortly. I stared at her waiting for her to continue. She glanced at me after a while finally noticing my stare."Its...hard to explain. They are called imperials and only put in an appearance when war is coming," she said shortly."Wow," I said, wanting more."Yeah.""That sure sums it up," I prodded.Frost sighed frustratedly. Yeah, I can be really annoying when I want to be."I'm going to explain it to you, later,
"Why do you have that look on your face," Frost said, staring at me questioningly. I shrugged with a smug look on my face turning to Kat."Stay close but not too close. My mom might have left you in charge but your mom left me in charge," I said. Kat sighed and nodded. The absentees were visiting Raphael's mother and therefore were out of town. They left Kat behind because she saw her grandma almost every weekend. Its personal."Seriously," Frost suddenly said hiding behind Kat. I glanced around, looking for a familiar face but found none."What are we looking for," I asked her, my eyes searching furiously."Tall, muscular, hot and my ex," my eyes immediately landed on the blonde talking to his fellow Adonis-es. No, thats not a real word but I gotta say, Frost knows how to pick 'em."He's like a....," I trailed off, trying to think of som
"You must think that I'm clingy," I said as I placed my head on Chris's shoulder."What, no. If anything I'm clingy and everyone needs a little cuddling once in a while," he said.I leaned my head back to stare at him. We stared at each other for a full minute, before bursting into laughter. Earning a few glares from couples trying to dance in peace.Suddenly the music stopped and all eyes were directed to the stage, where a well dressed and poised man stood. With a glass of champagne in his hands. He regarded everyone as if they were below him."That's Mr. Privetel," Chris whispered in my ear.So this was the guy that struck fear into everyone's hearts. At the moment, I didn't have any opinion of him. I'll decide when I meet him."I want to extend gratitude to you all, my esteemed guests for coming today to celebrate
“What's going on here." A door suddenly opened. It was partially hidden beside a bookshelf. Henry stood there. He glanced around the room, his eyes pausing on mine. He slightly nodded his head and I tilted mine. My vision cleared. “I'll take care of this,” he said squaring his shoulders and straightened his back. Meaning... His father smiled proudly, walking towards him and patting him on the back. “Make me proud son,” his father said, sending a devious look my way. He and his men then walked out of the room closing the door behind them. Silence engulfed us as we all stood frozen, staring at each other. Suddenly a muffled sound brought our attention to a desk. Kat! Henry and I immediately ran around the desk to see her. Henry removed the piece of cloth wrapped around her mouth and I got to work on the
I paused with the fork in my mouth as I raised a brow at Frost's questioning stare. "You're....are you okay," she asked from her seat in front of me at our official lunch table. I smiled and nodded. "Are you sure? Your hair is straight. The last time it was straight you weren't you," she said cautiously. "Well the last time I checked, you were...a very cold person," that was not what I wanted to say but you know what we should all make an effort to be nice at least once a day. "I'm...not the topic of this conversation, you are," she said with no room for smart comments. "I'm fine," I responded honestly. After the other night I have been feeling so chill. I don't even have words to explain it. "You sure, because the other night," she trailed off with a look. I chuckled and shook my
I smiled at a picture of Kat's kindergarten graduation photo. I loved her chubby cheeks. Sadly enough she obsessed over getting rid of it as soon as she hit puberty. I sighed and continued down the stairs. "Hey," I greeted Henry with a smile. "Hey, I wanted to talk to you," he said. "Yeah, I got the message," I said glancing around. "The hot dad let me in," I cringed as the words left his lips. "Don't ever say that again," I said motioning for him to follow me as I walked into the living room. "Is it wrong of me to say that I never thought you were rich," he said glancing around. I chuckled, sitting down. "That was exactly what I was hoping to achieve. A taste of deception," I said pulling a pack of gummy bear open. "So what did you want to talk about," I sa
