Chapter: 2

Katara heard her mother cough

so hard, she's starting to worry right now. They are already in the bed and it's midnight but her mother still can't sleep, she approached her and then patted her back gently.

"Are you okay mom? You look so pale." She worriedly says, the whole day Katara did what the maid should do. Good thing in her past life, she used to work as a maid as a disguise to kill someone. At her first work it was such a disaster, she almost burned the entire mansion of that family but it will not happen today or tomorrow. She learns how to be one, she learns that she's a personal maid of the Mistress Ave.

Katara decided to take some water, after that she helped her mother to drink it.

"Mother you should quit working here now, I'll talk to the head of maids and explain your situation."

"But I'm fine, Kat. You don't need to worry about me." Katara shakes her head as she disagrees.

"Mom, please listen to me. I can work perfectly now, you don't have to work together with me here.  Obviously, you're not fine, please just do this one." She said, and then patted her back gently again.

"I'll talk to Mrs. Smith and I'll explain to her that you're quitting." She added, and her mother nodded. She helped her lay down on her bed, really her mother shouldn't work anymore. She is fully aware that their life is difficult but still now that she's okay and can work perfectly. She is hoping that they'll rely on her, at least this is what she can do.

Next morning, Katara wakes up early and then immediately approaches Mrs. Smith to discuss her mother's situation.

"Good morning Mrs. Smith, but can you spare for a second?" She politely asks, she's now in the kitchen.

"Of course, what can I do for you Katara?"

"About my mom, she's kinda sick. So can she quit working here? I promise I'll work twice as hard." Mrs. Smith gives her a warm smile and then touches her hair.

"I understand, I'm already expecting this since I'm worried about your mother too. I'm glad she had a child like you. I'll talk the secretary of Duke about this so we can settle for her last payment" Katara smile at her

"Thank you Mrs. Smith." She said,

"No problem, now let's work hard."

"Yes."

Katara was astonished while looking at the City of Feronia as their carriage approached that place, the castle is on the top of all and it's beautiful. Their carriage crosses the bridge, and then it stops at a massive gate. Someone checks who is the one who entered and then after the identification they continue to cross.

The carriage finally stops, they stop in the parking lot of the carriages. Too many carriages at the like, Katara opened the door and then got out, she supported her Mistress to get off the carriage. She offer her hand, and Ms. Ave accepts it. They're here for two things, one if for her Miss will meet her lover and to shop for something. Katara opens the umbrella because it's hot, they walk together while holding the umbrella for her.

As she can see the city is lively, she heard people from different stores. Different people and nobles are passing, Katara is surprised when her mistress holds the umbrella.

"Let's meet at the carriage after an hour, don't worry! I am safe." Before Katara can answer the mistress already gone by the crowds. She sighs, but what if she was hurt?! Arg!

Katara doesn't have any choice but to wait, and buy what Mrs. Smith requested her to buy.

She came close to a vegetable store and then picked some potatoes, egg plants, and other vegetables that were on the list. After buying vegetables, she put it on the carriage and waited there. But after five minutes she got bored so she decided to take a look at the place, she's really not used to just staying there huh?

While she's walking, she looks at the things in the jewelry she couldn't help but reluctantly buy food. She gets out from the store holding some delicious bread, and walks again as she looks around. Someone suddenly ran into her causing the bread she was carrying to fall. She watches her bread rolls to the ground and cried, her precious bread!

She hears the loud yelling.

"A thief!" Before even realising it Katara already chased such a thief to catch it to pay him for dumping her causing to her bread on the ground, she ran out of breath. She realised this is not her own body anymore, she stops and looks around to find something she could throw off when she sees a wall. And there it is, she found someone who's carrying such a sword. She approached the man.

I'm sorry but can I borrow this for a moment?" She asked, then she pulled the sword out of its sheath. The man seems surprised by what she did, but before he could even react Katara already threw the sword. She threw it as if it's a dagger and then just for a moment the thief was already stop from running, using the sword Katara wounds the thief on his one leg. He is now crying in agony while holding his leg, Katara runs towards him and then immediately rips the bottom part of her dress and then she ties it to the thief's wound. She also picks the sword in the ground and brushes the dusk and blood.

She handed the sword carefully to the owner and apologize after because she knows that what she did is wrong.

"I'm sorry for what I did, and thank you." The gold cold eyes of the man looked at her, she smiled at him awkwardly. His eyes is cold, but it was so mesmerizing.

"I'm really sorry sir." Then she bowed to ask his forgiveness one more time, the one man beside him whispered something but he saw the man shaking his head.

"Let's just go…"

The man who whispered looked at her with a fierce look, like he was warning her.

"Are you really sure you're highness that you didn't want me to kill her?" The crown prince's right hand asks, he nods.

"I think she didn't know who I was, so just let it go."

The crown prince's right hand just nodded but it was just strange because he never let anyone touch his sword, the last one did it was already at the grave.
