Chapter 22

Katara sat at the edge of the bed, staring blankly at the wall in front of her. She knew Sean was angry with her and had every right to be. But she had tried to explain to him countless times that John was just a friend. It wasn't her fault that Sean was jealous and couldn't see that.

She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. She didn't know what to do anymore. She loved Sean with all her heart, but his jealousy was driving a wedge between them. She missed the way they used to be, carefree and happy. But that seemed like a distant memory now.

Suddenly, the door opened and Sean walked in. Katara turned to face him, unsure of what to expect.

"I'm sorry," Sean said, his voice soft.

Katara's eyes widened in surprise. She had expected him to be angry with her, not apologizing.

"I know I've been acting like a jerk lately," Sean continued. "And I know you've been trying to tell me that John is just a friend. I should have believed you."
