Chapter Sixty Nine

Adaline Point of View

"Can you stay here, I'll be back soon."

I smile at him, and nod, a lie.

"At least, Zayd seems to like Zoe." He laughs on his way out, which does nothing but reminds me of the prediction of her death, which wants to rob her of whatever happiness she can find with Zayd.

That won't happen on my watch. I wait a little, till I hear the front door slam, seems Zoe went with them.

Everything she has gone through, the pain, deaths, it's all so sad, and I would help her, everything must be worth it, she can't go through it all for nothing, she deserves happiness and joy.

I get up from the bed, pul off my clothes, wearing jeans and a crop top, I need to wear something that I can move in efficiently. I grab my backpack, leave a note for Alex, I would need concentration.

I walk past the Living Room, removing Zoe's cupcakes from the oven, grab two pieces, and a slice of cake, with that, I walk out.
