Chapter Thirty Five

Adaline Point of View

I stare at him, clad in a trouser and shirt that does nothing to cover his annoyingly chiseled body. His dark hair, a mess, like he ran his hand through it, in frustrations.

"I can get an hotel, there's one near the Cafe." I say, taking a bite of the delicious pancakes

"Fuck no, you have to be safe." He says, and I can basically see his thoughts, like it's written in subtle for me all over his face, can he see my thoughts too as clearly?

"I don't want to make you uncomfortable." I say, taking the last piece of the pancakes, rising so I can clean it.

"You could be at the other end of the world, and I'll still be uncomfortable, Aurora." He scoffs, and I still, more at the way he spits my name, than the venom in his words.

I place the plate in the sink, swaying my hair off my face, as I turn to him, placing my hands on my hips, I am so tired.

"Look, Alexandru. ."

He cuts me off with a sharp look "Luc"

A single word, and it tears through me.

I nod, then gulp
