Chapter 57: Meeting an old employer

"Good morning, master," greeted the butler who had some people fixing the shattered windows in the living room.

Ragnor responded with a "hmm" and walked towards the front door.

"Make sure you don't wake her," Ragnor said as he opened the front door and was about to step out to his study.

The butler peeped into the bedroom hearing what his master had just said and Clara was still sleeping hugging a pillow. He told the men to stop working and come back when the ma'am was awake.

Clara woke up 5 minutes after they had left and quickly got out of bed when she couldn't find Ragnor.

"My love, where are you?" she called out to Ragnor putting on her robe.

Ragnor came out of the study upon hearing Clara call him and walked toward the bedroom, meeting her at the door.

She quickly ran into his arms, and he wrapped his hands around her.

"You scared me. I thought you had left," Clara whined.

"My love, I won't do that to you. I promise," Ragnor assured her still hugging her.
