CHAPTER 3

Immediately Lorraine dropped the phone, she shook her head and went back to packing. Yeah, it was a bit strange when she put it like this, no one goes for a 11 months vacation because that is already a year of not working and no one goes without a boyfriend or a husband. She wasn’t married but she did have a guy she saw.

They had a big fight before she left so they weren’t really on speaking terms. Noah had insisted that she was running away with another man, which was absolutely false. Shaking her head to remove those disturbing thoughts, she finally zipped up her suitcase and dropped beside the door. She was packed and ready to go.

She glanced at the opened envelope that laid on the table as tears trickled down her face as she wiped it away. She couldn’t bear to read it one more time so she quickly stashed it in her bag. She would deal with it and live with it later.

She heard a cry right outside her door, as she walked to the door to see what had happened. Taking a peek, she saw an elderly woman trying to console a crying child. Probably his mum or aunt, but the child wasn’t consoled as he kept on crying and throwing a tamtrum.

“Gosh Joshua, could you please stop that, you are going to attract the attention of everyone livving in this floor…Oh pardon us, I hope we didn’t disturb you.” The lady said as she sighted Lorraine who stepped into the passageway.

“No not really, well yes…but I think I can help.” She said as she walked towards the crying child and placed her hand on his forehead and hummed a song.

And as quickly as he had started crying, the boy quietened down and gave her a smile, which she returned back.

“Oh my, you are so good at this. You must be a natural at motherhood.” The lady commented as Lorraine shook her head and said,

“No not really, I’m just a vet. But I am happy that I was able to help you, I don’t know how I do it either.” Lorraine said as she stared at her hands in contemplation as she bit her lower lips.

“Well I hope soon, you will find what you are looking for. You know in this town, we have a fountain. Call it superstitious belief but if you wish on the well and tell it what you want, it will find a way of happening to you. That was how I got my husband.” She added and winked before leaving with her son who waved at her.

“Hmmm, Fountain? Wish? Well I guess I have seen my last activity for the day. And maybe I can also get the house keeper to water my plants in my room, it’s looking like it’s dying.”She said in her mind as she walked to the elevator and pressed the button.

                       THIRTY MINUTES LATER

Lorraine had finally found the fountain…or to put it more accurately the fountain found her, as she was attracted to the size and how everyone, well not everyone but a large amount of people crowded the place dropping coins and walking away.

Taking a deep breath before she exhaled, she felt lighter and more in tune with nature than never before. As more people kept leaving, in the next 5 minutes, it was barely up to five people remaining. She decided to make a wish too. Taking a coin out of her purse, she walked to the foot of the fountain and stopped as she exhaled.

She stared at the cupid with a bow and arrow with heart at the tip before closing her eyes and whispering her wish. She kissed the coin and threw it into the water as it gleamed with the other coins.

She looked up and saw it was a full moon, and she smiled. Things were definitely going to change.

         ****BLOOD MOON CRESCENT PACK****

Alpha Adam soon got back home as he stepped in through the back door which led to the kitchen where his wife and Luna of the pack, Suki was cooking.

“You are back.” She said as she inhaled his scent before he wrapped his handa around her waist pulling her closer for an embrace as she leaned into the hug sighing.

“I needed that thanks.” She said as Adam kissed her on her shoulder and replied,

“I am so sorry for not keeping my promise with you and the kids, that was selfish of me and I apologize. It won’t happen again.” He said as Suki shook her head slowly.

“You do not need to apologize, I totally understand you. I guess I was bored and wanted to throw a tantrum. You are the Alpha of the pack and you belong to everyone not just me, and I am okay with it. That was why I married you remember.” She said as Adam looked at her and replied,

“And here I thought I was the one who married you.” He said as Suki winked at him and looked upwards towards the open sky.

“The moon sure is pretty tonight. I heard that if you wish for your true love under the full moon, you will find him or her.”

“Really? Where did you hear it from? This is the first I am hearing of it.”

“I don’t really know but why do you need to verify whether it is true or not, you got me for life, don’t you? She said as she kissed him on the cheeks as he nodded his head.

“Do you want to see the kids, they are upstairs and are looking cute as ever. We still need to come up with names for the kids, you know tomorrow night is the naming ceremony right?

“I know, and I would like it if you stopped reminding me, You are giving me a panic attack, what if I am not a good dad, or what if they hate the names I give them?” Adam said as Suki laughed and replied,

“Don’t fret about it okay? You are going to be an amazing dad.”
