Chapter 23: Training
Asteria wanted to ditch today’s training so badly.
The reason was simple. It was because of Asher’s baffling, yet somehow magnetic presence. It drew her in, causing ripples in her usually calm feelings.
The puzzled feeling left her afraid somehow. She knew that she was dead in whatever world once she existed out there; that planet called earth. It had driven her not to put too much attachments in this peculiarly unknown world.
Despite that, no matter how stone heart she was, Asteria, after all, was also a human. She couldn’t sink herself in ignorance when others had treated her with goodwill.
“Your training this afternoon will be overseen by His Grace himself, Grand Swordsman Asher himself.” Elias had thrown her a bomb this morning as soon as she woke up. Her agitation from the last night of meeting Asher had died down, yet it was now ignited last again.
