“What!?” Abel exclaimed in surprise.

I ignored him and stared intently at the flash of emotions that flitted across Tiana’s face as she registered my question.

Finally, her wary eyes met my own, “What are you talking about?”

I snorted and raised an eyebrow, “Don’t think I’m stupid after that shocked expression you just showed. Answer the question.”

Her lips thinned into a straight line as a blank look decorated her face. I knew what that look meant. I wasn’t going to get an answer from her, but I didn’t need to get the answer directly from her lips.

To prove me right, she responded, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

I sneered at her blatant lies and turned to glance back at the brothers, “do me a favor?”

“What is it?” Axil asked.

“Listen to her heartbeat and tell me when it starts to race.”

Axil’s eyes shone with anticipation as he nodded and waited for me to begin.
