Chapter Fourteen

The sun was coming through the window at such an odd angle. Like it was the afternoon. The sun shouldn't be up at all right now, why hadn't Eliza woken me up for the morning farm chores? Had her alarm not gone off as well? I relished in that for a moment, allowing myself to revel in the extra hours of sleep I had gotten. But I still felt as if I had gotten up at four and worked my ass off and before that, I had gotten horrible sleep. My body felt weak and fatigued. When the sun pissed me off enough, I opened my eyes with a sigh of defeat. I sat up quickly in surprise.

The room was huge. White marble flooring, dark wood walls, and floor to ceiling windows that overlooked a forest. I was laying in a large bed with thick white covers. There was a door that was cracked open, I could see the crystal marble sink of a bathroom. There were two other doors, I hoped one of them was an exit. There
