Chapter 21 - Eva

Eva covered the end of the flashlight with the gray sack slung over her shoulder and smashed it into the glass, shattering it with as little noise as possible. The small pieces scattered and glittered in the moonlight as they delved onto the hard concrete, their harsh edges the only thing making them visible in the darkness.

Eva waited silently, listening intently for an alarm or people freaking out. When nothing caught her attention, she snaked her thin arm between the sharp contours of the glass and flicked her wrist so she could reach the lock.
