Lily

I ducked into the closet as quickly as I could and once I was there, I didn't let myself breathe for a few seconds. My body temperature dropped as a direct result of the anxiety that I was feeling. I had the distinct impression that I was going to pass out at any moment. The person or people who were standing outside the room persisted in kicking and banging on the door with their hands and legs until they were finally successful in bringing it down.

When James did not immediately pick up the phone after I dialed his number as soon as I got my hands on my mobile phone, I was taken aback. I had dialed his number as soon as I got my hands on my mobile phone.
