Ep 53: Sad & broken

“Mr Bryant, Mrs Bryant has woken up.” Xavier put the conference call on hold as he heard Jacob report to him. He promptly trotted out of the room and ran towards his bedroom where she was sleeping.

The doctor and nurses smiled seeing Xavier then they left the room. On the bed, Amyra was sitting, her head laying against the back of the bed and she was looking into the space when she seemed so numb.

Xavier felt alive again, only he could tell how delighted he was at the moment. He ran here just to see her. From the door, he walked slowly towards the bed. Then he sat next to her.

He couldn’t help but look at her face, her eyelashes and her eyes again. She looked pale and as if she lost weight.

Holding her hand, he gently placed them between his hands. Amyra, feeling his touch, opened her eyes just to see him sitting next to her. There was no specific feeling in her heart for him except animosity and despair.

“How are you feeling now?” he asked her in a worried and low tone of voice.
