Chapter 106

A long-haired person whose gender could not be deciphered in just one look sat by a window. When they caught sight of a familiar figure at the entrance, they stood up and went over with their arms spread wide.

“It’s been a long while, Ruth!”

Ruth bypassed the person and sat down across from him. “I’m married. Keep your distance.”

The man’s lips twitched, and he stared at her as if he was wondering whether she had a few screws loose in her head. When he saw Ruth remaining steadfast in keeping her distance, he felt resigned and took out a black velvet bag from his pocket.

“My wife told me to hand it to you personally.” He was also married! Why was she being so prideful?!

Ruth took the velvet bag and took a look inside. It had a small box with two rings lying quietly inside it.

The workmanship suited her expectations. “Not bad. How’s work at your workshop? I’ve been busy with the company lately and didn’t have time to check it out.”
