Louise's POV Zalev takes my hand and leads me to another part of the cave. We stop at a door that clearly says 'Alpha' on a nameplate. He knocks and opens the door immediately. Once inside, I see a well-built man sitting behind a desk, his eyes dark and his eyebrows bushy and full. He must be close to thirty, judging by the deep scars on his face, mostly the result of hard life experiences. As he rises from his chair to face us, I notice that his body is bulky and covered in tattoos. Zalev is not exactly small, but this Alpha towers over us. His aura is formidable, my wolf immediately runs for cover and I slide closer to Zalev for protection. "Alpha Alvarez, this is my mate, Louise. She joined us after our men found her at the pack border," Zalev proudly introduces me. I look up at the Alpha, unsure whether to shake his hand. The man in front of me is clearly a no-nonsense figure. "Louise. I am so
Still Louise's POV Describing my feelings for Loriann is difficult at the moment. A hatred burns within me so intensely that it could consume me at any moment. The images from a few days ago, from the moment I regained consciousness, replay in front of me. Some stinking, grinning rogues bent over me, saliva dripping from their mouths as they stared at me with big, covetous eyes. They had removed the arrows from my body and applied herbal medicine to my wounds, which they clean up twice a day. But it was their words that struck me to my soul. They made me out to be anything dirty and promised to feast on my body before the Alpha returned from a mission. Then they would kill me and bury me somewhere near the border of Eclipse Howl, close to my pack. And the second day, when the wounds were fully healed thanks to my wolf, they did not let a moment pass. The humiliation and pain I felt from the torture is indescribable.
Alpha Alvarez's POV I can't believe I finally found her. My mate, the woman I dreamt about for so many nights. In the past, I have searched for her in so many packs, but to no avail. And now that I have given up and am at the lowest point of my life, I meet her, unexpectedly. I couldn't bring myself to go to her. What could I offer her? My father kicked me out of the pack, and as Alpha of the rogues, my authority is limited to this small group. There are less than two hundred of us, and we live in caves, barely able to fill our stomachs. It is a constant challenge to stay alive here in the unclaimed territory. Megan! Her name sounds like the purest music and will forever be etched in my heart. Her beauty is the most I've ever seen. What should I do now? I want so badly to keep her with me, to claim her, to mark her but also make her the happiest woman in this universe. But how do I do that, I cannot offer her a secure future. After a refre
Still Alpha Alvarez's POV It's Full Moon. The werewolves in the various packs go mad, this is the season when they honor the Moon Goddess. Unmated wolves go looking for their mate and the mated ones get adrift to mate, wanting to sire as many pups as possible to continue their bloodline. Most of the activity takes place at night when the moon is at its fullest in the sky. From the hilltop I watch the sky impatiently, can't wait for the time when Eclipse Moon's pack run starts. Meg, my mate! I have to find her scent among the hundreds of raging werewolves, and I bet you I will. She is like a fresh sea of flowers, with the magnolia standing out. But there is something else about her scent that makes me wary. It looks like my mate is not yet of age, she is under twenty-one. I chuckle, knowing exactly what is going on. My intense desire for her has added a stronger element to my scent, one that she cannot ignore despite her y
Alpha Alvarez's POV again "What do you want to talk to me about, Alvarez? You're not going to reject me, are you?" Her voice cracks, I read fear in her eyes. She grabs my hand. "Don't do it. I'm young and I can learn. If you show me how to be your perfect mate, I promise I can live up to your expectations.” I let out a hoarse laugh and gripped her hand tighter. "I have no intention of ever rejecting you, get that out of your pretty head. I've waited too long for you to let you go. You have no idea how much I want you with me, Meg. You are the best thing that has happened to me in this life," I whisper to her as I bring her hand to my lips. "Then what is it then? I feel such restraint from you. Am I being too overwhelming? I know I can be a handful. Everyone suspects that's why I have Loriann as a friend, I can easily overrule her," she sighs. "But I know I can make you happy if you only give me the chance." Goddess! My heart bursts with pride, I am s
Loriann's POV Meg has been so withdrawn these past few days. For the first time since we became friends, there is silence when we are together. When we attend lectures, she sits in a corner and stares ahead. She no longer approaches me when I drive up. I miss her bubbly vibrancy, her smooth babble and her wide smile. Something is definitely going on. When Romero and Jace ask us out, she brushes it off with the excuse that she is too busy with personal matters. That disappoints me, this was my only chance to get close to Romero, to alert him to my presence in the pack. But from the looks of it, I'll have to think of something else, Meg is now more introverted than I am. At first, I thought it was temporary. But it's been going on for several days now. I want to get my old friend back and be the Power Four that we used to be. Jace enters the canteen and sits down next to her. She doesn't even notice him, staring down at her phone as if a
Still Loriann's POV "Mum, Dad, I'm home". Arriving home, I am surprised to find both my parents present. This is very rare but these are my best moments. Having dinner with my parents, watching TV or playing games are my favorite pastimes. They shower me with so much love as if to make up for all the long hours they spend at work and pay less attention to me. However, I won't be able to enjoy our quality time as a family for long tonight because of the date I have with my three friends. My parents are sitting on the couch and look up as I walk in. I drop between them and they immediately put their arms around my shoulders. "Hey sweetie, how was your day?" my father asks. "We learn that you tend to be in a privileged company. Alpha Romero and his Beta prefer you and Meg out of all the she-wolves in the pack". I blush like a sailor at this assertion. "They asked Meg for help and I'm just tagging along. It's n
Future Alpha Romero's POV Sipping my whiskey, I stare at the two women on the dance floor. They are swinging and laughing with a glass in hand, clearly enjoying themselves. Jace and I have managed to distract Meg from her fear of losing her mate. She can't possibly feel the mate bond yet but now that the Alpha has approached her, she doesn't want to lose him. Quite understandable, as each werewolf only gets one mate, so it is best to keep him. In exceptional cases, the Moon Goddess grants a second chance mate, but it is uncertain and it can take much longer to meet one. Werewolves don't cope well with loneliness, so they prefer to accept their fated one. Man! I can't wait until I'm twenty-one to find mine. I keep wondering who that could be, what she looks like and whether I will meet her at the stroke of midnight. My heart pounds like crazy when I think of meeting her one day. Sure I won't reject her, I even think of marking her right away and having the Luna ceremo
