Chapter 86: Decisions

Months later

When we think of all that we have suffered and how much we want to make others pay for it, we absurdly believe that the latter can be done quickly. But this is not so. Several months have passed, and the pain of the losses we have experienced has not diminished.

The only thing we have not lost is our union, the one we promised each other to give beyond revenge. Our realities made us stronger and more united. Camilo being an orphan, like me, was sad. But sadder was for him and for all of us, to see how his house was being rebuilt from the rubble.

Seeing it return to its former appearance was not the relief we thought it would be. For, it caused pain to see the material things recovered, but the lives lost, no. We had all been hurt that day. We had all been hurt that day. But the one who lost the most was Camilo and all, for helping us. But we had to move forward, both with our lives and our purpose.
