Chapter 7

I toss and turn, but sleep refuses to take me. Its absence causes this insomnia. In just a few days, I've become dependent on it. I can't have dinner without it, I can't sleep without it. It's quite strange. I don't think I love it, but I've developed a need to see it beside me, to feel its arms around me when I sleep, and even the specific, unorthodox touches it makes at the table.

I really don't understand why he spends so much time in that office. Did the meeting last so long that he couldn't even have dinner with me or at least make it to the bedroom by this hour? Wanting to satisfy my curiosity, I go to his office. I knock, but no one answers, so I enter. Fear grips me when I see the floor and walls covered in blood. Has something happened to Damon?
