Maxwell's sharp gaze fell upon Bridget. "Why is it you?" he asked coldly.

Of course, Bridget dared not provoke him. After all, her and Jocelyn's fates were in his hands. They were now completely at his mercy.

So, Bridget hurriedly said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Lance. I-I've entered the wrong room. I'll leave now."

Just as she turned to leave, Maxwell called out in a deep voice, "Stop right there!"

Bridget's steps froze in place, trembling as she inquired, "I-Is there anything else you need?"

"Come here."

Maxwell narrowed his eyes slightly, betraying no hint of emotions.

Bridget had no choice but to walk over stiffly. She could not stop herself from shuddering, either.

Maxwell pinched her chin with his slender fingers. After scrutinizing her for a moment, he asked, "Shall I take you home?"

Bridget stared at him in disbelief.

Immediately after, she begged sorrowfully, "Mr. Lance, I know I've done wrong. P-Please spare me."

"What's the matter? You're not willing to go home with me?"
