Maxwell's eyes turned red, exuding a subtle air of menace.

Initially, he did not want to let the two scoundrels off so easily.

However, Jennifer grabbed him, her voice soft as she pleaded, "Stop fighting. I want to go home. Let's go home."

Despite his anger, Jennifer did not feel upset. Instead, a comforting warmth surged from within.

His mention of "home" provided her with a sense of belonging on such a cold night.
