Maxwell's words lay heavy over Jennifer's heart.

So, he still felt for Rachel. He also believed that her father deserved to be jailed and that everything was her father's fault.

Jennifer's heart tightened hearing Maxwell defend Rachel, but she couldn't argue against it.

Maxwell's tone turned colder at her stubbornness. "And how will you do that? Do you have a way to fight the law?"

Jennifer felt defeated and muttered softly, "Mr. Moore said we can settle this privately if Rachel withdraws the lawsuit. My father...won't have to go to prison. Maxwell, please.
