Arianne is quite good in assessing an employee but when it comes to Jace, her heart always distracting her. Determined, after this ordeal, she will focus on checking his loyalty! Let's see if he is still hiding something. She mentally thought and smirk in her somehow hopeless idea.
Jace feeling her mind is wandering in somewhere he hoped is good enough, he drag her to sit down beside him. "Love, there's a cabin inside this jet, you want to take a nap there?" he then whispered lovingly in her ear.
Arianne shook her head knowing well that she can't make herself settle in peace not unless she found her daughter and father.
"We're going to stay up in the air for three fucking hours you know!" he again said and gesture to the stewardess to come over.
He ask for some whisky for him and Killian just to loosen a little and an orange juice for her.
The stewardess nodded and go prepare their drinks. She then handed it to them bowing her head. Arianne th
Jace went to the weeping Arianne who got stuck up to the ground. Killian calmly went to James' side and check him for any pulse. Thankfully, he found it eventhough it's weak. He nodded to the paramedics who enter the room and give them instructions about James' condition. He never dare to lay a single glance to Arianne's mother whom he's certain is dead because he knew he never misses a bullet especially if it's a headshot. "Love, it's done now! C'mon let's check your dad and Tara!" Jace heard everything that Lauren said to Arianne and he felt bad for her. All he is thinking now is to protect his woman from the types of Lauren who is vicious enough to try to kill her own daughter. "I need to call my grandma! She needs to know!" the ever thoughtful Arianne is still thinking about others even she herself is still not stable enough Jace thought to himself. He nodded then slowly bring her outside while the paramedics do their job and retrieve Lauren's dead body.
When James was settled in to his own room, both Jace and Arianne went to Tara's room on the other side. Tara is still sleeping peacefully when they enter the room. Arianne rushed to her daughter and gently grab her hand and kiss it while stroking her still fluffy cheeks. She just want to stay beside her but she has things to do one of those is to take care of her mom's remains. "Jace, can you stay here for a while, I have to go and check for mom's!" "Joey is already working on it! You don't need to lift a finger on it!" Jace said with an annoyed expression. She can't really blame him for feeling that way, truth be told, her mom tried to hurt her, her own daughter and even dare to shoot Tara, their little girl. She sighed. "Okay! Jace, why is there no police in that area by the way? Aren't they supposed to be there because there is a shooting incident!?!!" Arianne asked with curiosity itching on her. "Killian's men handle them well! You hav
Tara cried loudly as the pain keeps on increasing because of the movement she'd made unknowingly. Jace push the button for the emergency while Arianne rushed to her daughter. She helped her to calm down just by hugging her gently. She also told her daughter to stay still because her wound is still fresh. A few more seconds and a pair of doctor and nurse came in. The doctor checked her wound and saw that it is bleeding but not too much. He just gave Tara medicine for the pain and let the nurse dressed her wound before they both leave. The whole room would be quiet if not for Tara's constant whining. But both of her parents understood that she is just four years old and got shot by a stray bullet so they know better than to assume that she is only acting like a brat. After a few minutes of whining, Tara got very exhausted and fell asleep. Jace and Arianne both felt so much pity for their daughter but they can only do so much as to hug and kiss her.
Arianne then went to greet Stephen and Elise. Arianne felt a little discomfort because of the guilt of putting Jace and her twins' lives in danger. She thought if it's not because of her, her mom won't do those drastic moves that even ended her own life. Elise hug her and that surprised her. "I know what happened! It's not your fault! We can't control everything or everyone Arianne! And Tara is fine now so don't bother into thinking low of yourself!" She give Elise a small smile."Thank you for the understanding and also for taking care of Jacob!" "Oh if you want he can stay with us more!?!!" Elise said looking at Jace. "No, mom! Maybe some other time!" Jace said and shrugged his shoulder. "Fine! But next time I want both Tara and Jacob to do a sleepover with us!" Elise said and crossed her arms on her chest. Just like Tara used to do. "Sure Elise! Once Tara fully recovered I will set a date for that sleepover!" Arianne said smili
When they reached Tara's room, they found her happily talking to Jacob. "Hi princess! does it still hurt a lot?" Jace said as he went to hug and kiss his daughter. "Not really daddy! Jacob here thought maybe because I get to sleep longer that's why! Mommy I'm hungry!" Tara told her mom who is behind her dad. Jace laughed as to how her daughter got easily distracted by anything. Arianne nodded and went to the microwave on one corner and reheat Tara's food. There's mushroom soup, creamy carbonara and a slice of pizza. She then went to the small fridge and found a packed mango juice. She put it all in a tray and place it on Tara's bed. "Mommy I want to sit down! And I'm very hungry too!" Jace chuckle and help his daughter fix her bed so she can comfortably sit. Jacob just stand on the corner watching his parents take care of his little sister. "Princess tomorrow we can all go back home! Are you excited?" Jace ask his daughter as he starte
The next day, Tara got discharged from the hospital while James has to stay as he is still in coma. Grateful for Jace, Arianne's dad has a personal nurse. And in additon to, Ms. Porter, Farris' receptionist is also there to help taking care of James. Arianne asked Jace about it but he simply shrugged his shoulders and told her to wait for his dad to explain it. Arianne don't have a problem about it, she is just curious. Well, if Ms. Porter can help his dad to wake up sooner and or if is she is going to be her stepmom, they have nothing to be afraid of her! Arianne had long prepared for her dad to settle down again and be truly happy. And that's what he deserve after all what he went through. Jace and Arianne turn the rest of the week in to a more relaxing and peaceful family week. They already hired a babysitter who will look after the twins after their school and until their parents show up. Mandy is a middle aged woman and is a widow. She has two daughters and they
"Mom?" Jace asked his mother but it seems like she is in another dimension right now. "Yes honey?" Elise then said after she came back from her reverie. "I'm just asking you your reason for this unexpected visit?" Jace said casually. Elise sighed as she remember her purpose in coming over. "Your dad is getting agitated about your situation especially in legal aspect." "Mom, you and dad worry too much! Didn't I told him already not to get involve on that aspect? Besides, I'm still at the process of trying to figure out a way or a solution to my problem." "How can you expect us to keep silent about this Jace? Rowan already contacted Stephen about those media reports regarding you! You already ruin Stephen and Rowan's friendship with what you did to his daughter and now what is this? We are trying to help you so we can shield both your children from those who can and will try to break them. I think Arianne is yours to handle anyway!"
Arianne's POV After lunchtime, we threw ourselves to as much work as possible. Jace is going for an out of town spare that, state. I am never aware of this new project considering I'm his personal assistant and he's always with me. Or maybe Mr. Austin is involve in this, after all he is the original assistant! I already informed Mandy that we will take charge of the kids today so her first day will have to wait for tomorrow instead although we are still going to compensate her for today. And lastly, I called Riza, yeah I refuse to call her Ms. Porter anymore as I saw her effort on taking care of my dad, for any update for my dad's condition. In less than a week, she already earned my respect and trust. Especially how she treats my kids when we went to visit dad last time. When we reached home, I started packing his clothes while he make some more calls. When I'm almost done, he came inside the room. "Are you done? It's almost time to pic
