Chapter 1
I ran down the stairs as screams filled my ears and terror flooded my veins. I sprinted to the front door of the pack house and flung it open— revealing rogues and pack members everywhere tackling, biting, ripping, and killing each other. My eyes squeezed shut, and my hands plugged my ears, praying that this was not real. After taking a few deep breaths I peeled them open again, but nothing has changed, and I began to panic. With only one thing on my mind, I was now determined to fight with everything I had.Sprinting across the open field, no one noticed me; they were too busy fighting, killing. I made my way through the endless trees searching for my siblings. I don't understand; they should have been in the pack house with me. How could they have been so foolish to leave?Hiding behind a thick tree, I hear

Chapter 2
"Oh."The room fell silent; I could hear the crickets outside. My heart was beating out of my chest, and I felt like I couldn't breathe while staring down at my hands resting on my lap. I wanted to get up and run into the forest, and not dare to come back.My mate.My mate is standing five feet away from me, and I can't move, I want to run into his arms, I want to be his. But I can't move. Katy is sitting on the couch opposite of mine completely shocked, like everyone else. I feel like I'm going to puke, the tension in the room was slowly suffocating me. I stood up and looked him right in his piercing deep blue eyes; I did not run into his arms. Instead, I left the room. I speed walked into the kitchen and took a deep breath; the air was fresh and untouched by emotion.

Chapter 3
"Is that all?" The man behind the counter asked in a bored tone."You know what change the diet coke to a sprite." Katy scans the menu."Katy you've been ordering for fifteen minutes, there's people waiting for us!" I scold her."I'm done!"Behind us, you can hear people sighing and mumbling 'finally.' She turns around and glares at the other people in line."Come on, let's go sit down," I suggest.Katy grabs her chicken sandwich, fries, and Sprite off the counter and carries her tray with her chin up high. We pick a table by the fountain in the middle of the food court and sit down.

Chapter 4
I didn't sleep all night. Katy would come by and knock on the door asking me to let her in, so we can talk. I didn't feel like talking, just being alone. At first, all I did was cry; now I'm just staring at the ceiling while I lay still on the bed. I knew that if I tried to leave now, he would haunt my mind and heart forever. Why did he think that he wasn't good for me? We were made for each other; he's supposed to be the best thing to ever happen to me. How can I have a future with someone that said our kiss was a mistake?knock"Anna, you can't stay in there forever." Katy talked to the door."Yes, I can." I protest in a board tone."Come on Anna, please open the door." Katy cries.

Chapter 5
Tyler stood in the doorway, his eyes filled with lust. He came closer to the bed, trailing his fingers on the soft covers. The closer he got to me the more restless I became. I studied his naked chest, his defined abs that make my mouth water. My wolf purred as he bent down, our lips almost locking, I couldn't wait for the sensation of his kisses."Anna!" A voice mumbles, ruining the moment."Annalee!""Wake up!"My eyes shoot open and are greeted by Katie's face. It was only a dream, darn."I wanted to show you around the pack today!" She cheers clapping her hands."Don't you have school?" I ask rubbing my eyes. What time is it?Read more
Chapter 6
"With me." Tyler stands up. "Anna is my mate."Just hearing him say those words makes my heart flutter, my mind race, my knees grow weak and makes me feel whole. It's the first time he's said Anna and mate in the same sentence.I look down at the hardwood floor trying to hide my blush."Anna is that true?" Frank asks.I peek up to see everyone's eyes on me. "Yes, he's my... mate."Frank sighs and walks up to me. "Anna... there's something I never told you, and that thing is why you can't just run away."Frank has been keeping secrets from me; I'm not surprised. Everyone does."Well, what is it?" I ask slightly curious. He takes a moment to look around the room after his eyes meet mine again."Are you sure you want me to tell you in front of everyone?" He asks unsure. Before I could answer his question, Tyler already did."Jackson, Katy." Tyler points his finger at the door, Jackson

Chapter 7
I woke up in Tyler's room alone. I was a little disappointed; I wanted to wake up next to him. I shrugged it off and pretended to get over it as I slipped out of his warm duvet. I went back to my room and took a shower, even after the shower I still smelled like him, and I love it. I got dressed and went down stairs, and the house was empty. Katy was at school. Tyler was working who knows where, and Jackson was training. I ate break fast and decided to go for a run. I haven't let my wolf out in a while, and she was starting to bother me. I walked through the field in front of the woods and into the tall trees. I was getting ready to take off my clothes and shift, but I hear a noise behind me. I turn, but nothing is there.I shrug it off and take off my shirt leaving me in my sweats and bra. As I reach for my pants I hear the noise again, I grab my shirt and hold it against my chest.

Chapter 8
I finished off breakfast with Katy as we talked about going to the mall, she wanted to go get new shoes or something. She's been explaining to me why she needs a whole new shoe collection. Either they didn't fit or they're unexceptional, whatever that means."Anna all you have to do is ask Tyler." Katy finishes."Ugh, what if he's busy?" I protest."He's not, its just paperwork.""That's something." I put my hands on my hips."Ya but he does that every day." She wines."Fine," I complain. I have a feeling Katy's been using the fact that Tyler and I are mates to get what she wants.

"Anna wake up!" Katy shakes my sleeping body."No," I mumble with my face buried in the pillow."Please, I need your help!" She wines."With what?" I turn over on my back to face her. I'm not sure if I want to know what she needs help with, though."I'm stuck babysitting three kids, and I can't do it on my own." She plasters on a puppy dog face. "Please help me," Katy begs."Ugh, when do they get here?" I ask, agreeing to help her."Yay thank you! They get here in twenty minutes." Katy cheers."Okay just give me time to change." I slip out of my warm covers.
