Chapter 1
My alarm was going off so I rolled over and turned it off. I heard my mother hollering from down the stairs. "Willow get up. Your going to be late." I pulled the blanket over my head and yawned. I knew I should've went to bed earlier but I was just starting to get into a really good book and I just couldn't put it down. My name is Willow Addison. I am sixteen and starting my junior year in high school. I have always been a bookworm I guess you can say. Not that I didn't have friends but I have just always been into my studies. I kept impecable grades and stayed out of trouble. "Willow Marie Addison don't make me come up there." My mother's voice rang out. "I'm up!" I yelled back. I slowly rolled out of bed and made my way to the shower. I was actually excited to get back to school I was just slow this morning. I took a quick shower and picked out my outfit for the day. My mother had of course gone overboard

Chapter 2
My mom wasn't to upset especially once I told her all about Jesse. She was actually excited for me. He was the only boy I have shown any interest in. "I am happy for you Willow. However, there will be rules. For one no later than ten on school nights and eleven on the weekend." I smiled at her and agreed. That was two weeks ago. Jesse and I have become the talk of the school. I was starting to see why he liked being part of the popular crowd but it was not me and he understood that. He never pushed me to be around his friends if I didn't want to. "Hey babe you staying after for practice today?" Jesse took his spot beside me and pulled me closer to him. "I can't today. I promised mom I would go home after school. She has some stuff being delivered." He flashed me his big puppy dog eyes and I laughed. "Fine, but we have to run to my house right after practice." He smi

Chapter 3
I woke in a cold sweat and the echo of my scream was still sounding in the cave. It was just starting to get light out and my fire had all but died out. I still was a bit out of it when I heard the steps coming twords the cave entrance again. Once again I backed up into the shadows and watched as the same young man appeared. He was a sight. I hadn't taken the chance yesterday to look at him because I was to worried he would see me. The man stood probably six foot. He had short blonde hair and from what I could see he had a nice build. He was muscular but not overly muscular. Today he had on just a black tank top and shorts. I could make out the hint of a tattoo on his chest. How he wasn't freezing I had no idea. He placed another bag by the entrance of the cave. He looked around and saw the containers from yesterday sitting by the fire pit I had built. "I know you are scared but if you decide to come out I promise I won't hurt

Chapter 4
Willow's POV... I could hear voices around me but I couldn't seem to open my eyes. I thought that I had to be dead. "Dad I don't know what else to do. She should have woke up by now." The voice sounded familiar but I wasn't sure who it was. "Luke she will wake when she is ready. You saved her son. Besides look she has all but healed and it has only been a few days. You know what that means." I didn't hear the response as I fell back into the darkness. I don't know how much longer I was out but this time I was finally able to actually open my eyes. I slowly opened them and the light was overly bright. Maybe I was in a hospital. Once my eyes adjusted I looked around. I definitely wasn't in a hospital but it looked like I was in someone's house. I heard a small noise in the corner of the room. I turned my head and that's when I saw him. It was the young man that had been bringing food to t

Luke's POV... I still was trying to grasp everything that had happened in the last few weeks. From the moment Willow had entered our land I had a pull to her. I could feel everything she was feeling. She was scared and didn't know what had happened to her. I knew the answers to some of her questions but I couldn't just come out and say hey you're a wolf. No. She had to figure it out on her own. For some reason she was blocking out her transformation. My father had said that something dramatic had happened when she first shifted and that was why she was blocking it. I just wish I knew what had happened so I could help her. I also was very concerned about the creature I had seen almost attack Willow. I hadn't yet told my parents about it because I wasn't sure if I had seen it correctly. Who am I kidding? My eyesight is the best when I am in my wolf form. I did know what I saw and that means trouble. My

Luke's POV... It's been two weeks since Willow finally realized what she was. She is impressive and a quick learner. The more time we spend together the stronger the pull is between us. I know she can feel it to but I don't think she knows what it means. I don't want to freak her out by just coming out and saying anything about it. My parents had explained it to me when I was sixteen. It is in our blood to find our one mate. When you find that person you can feel everything they feel, and when you mate the connection is unbelievable. There are stories of elders in the community that have been able to feel and hear their mate over thousands of miles once they have mated. I don't know how true those stories are but so far everything else that has been told to me has all been true. "Come on Luke I want to go for a run." Her sweet voice called out to me from the front door. We still haven't explained everything

Willow's POV... "Jesse!" My scream woke me again but this time I wasn't alone. "Who's Jesse?" Luke's voice sounded hurt as he sat at the end of my bed. I sat up sweat dripping down my face. I rubbed my eyes and then looked right into his. "He was a boyfriend I had back when I was in school. Something horrible happened to him." Was all I offered. I felt the tears sting my eyes as I tried to fight them back. I knew that he was dead but I just didn't know if I had killed him. "Do you remember what happened to him?" Damn I was hoping he wouldn't question it. "I heard he was attacked by an animal but it was after I left." The sting in my heart when I lied to Luke was almost unbearable. I wanted to tell him everything I remembered, everything I was dreaming but I couldn't. Not yet at least. Even though I was trusting him and his family more and more I still didn't know wh

Chapter 8
An hour later the lunches were all made and the children were starting to arrive. The church just happened to serve as the local daycare as well. They had about ten kids in the morning and then about another ten or so that came after school. There was one other woman that helped with the daycare. Her name was Sierra and she was in her mid thirties. Sierra was just as kind as Grace was. When she first met me she immediately embraced me in a big hug. "Oh you poor thing. I'm so glad that Grace found you." I wasn't use to the kindness of these people. I was defensive at first but after a few hours I was getting use to it. At about three the pastor arrived. He was a man in his forties. He was just as kind as Grace and Sierra. "Why hello. Who do we have here Grace?" "Oh hello pastor Wilson. This is Addison. She is our new helper." Pastor Wilson reached out his hand to shake mine. "Hello Addison."&n

Chapter 9
Luke's POV... I have been on my own for three months now. I had followed Willow's scent as far as I could but then she made sure that I lost it. She was a smart girl for sure and it kind of made me laugh a little bit when I realized what she had done. Now though I was just searching every town I came across. I had just crossed over the Canadian border when her scent filled my nose. "Willow." I reached out hoping she would answer me but I got nothing. I followed her scent to a small town a few miles from the border. It seemed like a quiet little place to hide out at. It was just before dawn so I decided to wait for a few hours and then head into the town. I didn't have to wait that long to see her though. As I started to settle in under one of the trees her scent filled my nose again and strong. I heard something coming twords me and before I could move she ran right into me. We both tumbled down a small hil

Demetris POV... I sat in silence watching my family, if that's what you want to call us, devour our latest kill. Cleo was licking her fingers as she slowly approached me. "Come play with us Demetris. I know you are thirsty." When she reached me she stuck one of her blood covered fingers in my mouth allowing me to suck it clean. She smiled sadistically at me as the blood still ran down her lips.  "Mmm but my dear you have taken the fun out of the hunt. You have killed them all." I pointed behind her at the carnage left in the small alley. She smirked innocently at me and I had to admit her dark red eyes held my attention for a moment. I pushed a piece of her raven hair behind her ear as the night air whisked through the alley bringing forth a scent of fear. I looked up from Cleo's eyes and saw the young woman at the end of the alley. "Ahhh see new prey for you my sweet." Cleo dashed down the alley with
