Prologue
“And you know what? My maid bought me a dress today. I wanted to wear it but she said that I can only wear it during birthdays or weddings. Now, I hate her”, the little girl ranted as she sat in front of the boy. Her hair was in twin tails and she was dressed very nicely. “Is that so? Maybe it’s just so beautiful that you cannot wear it just anytime”, the boy answered, trying to sound positive. “Hmm, it was really sparkly and it looked like the clouds. I cannot wait to show it to you when I finally wore it”, the little girl said and the boy just smiled at the radiance this girl was emitting. “Baby, where are you?” Both of them looked up. The little girl immediately stood up. “I promise to show you my dress when I finally wore it. Then, my maid won’t be angry”, she said with a big smile before running to where her maid was. After two weeks, the little girl visited the boy once again and this time, wearing her sparkly dress just as she promised. “Look, mister. I look like a princ

Chapter 1
“Call the young lady.” The maid frantically went up the stairs after the house’s patriarch said his command. She ran towards the young lady’s room and took a deep breath before knocking.  “Young miss, it’s Celestina”, the maid greeted. She heard the sound of heels clicking heading towards her and the door opened. “Yes?”, the young lady asked, now in her dress and her hair fixed. The maid was taken aback with their young miss’ beauty but she immediately recovered and cleared her throat. “Your father is requesting for your presence, miss”, the maid managed to say in the middle of being intimidated by both the father and his daughter in front of her.  The lady in front of her looked at her back to check the time and clicked her tongue.

Chapter 2
Orianne couldn’t help but sniff the jacket that Amos gave her. She expected to smell some manly and expensive perfume but no matter how many times she sniffed it inside the elevator, it still smelled like baby powder. How ironic, she thought, since instead of gun powder, it was baby powder.  While still waiting to reach her floor, she smiled at her own reflection thinking that nobody managed to surprise her as many times as Amos did today. She looked at the changing numbers of the elevator and composed herself when the doors opened.  A man in a suit welcomed her and guided her to the only double doors in the entire floor. Two men in black guarding the doors opened it for her and the smell of formality, luxury, and business welcomed her. She cannot properly scan the whole crowd but, surely her relatives and some business partners attended. Only the stage’s lights were on, leaving the crowd in a minim

Orianne, concerned to involve more people, walked swiftly through the crowd towards where her parents’ table. Her mother just grinned at her while her father, still holding a glass of liquor, used his pinky finger to point at jacket on Orianne’s chair.  “Leave it and go”, Reagan said and drank from his glass.  Orianne shook her head and grabbed the jacket before the screen once again turned on.  Instead of a video, a text was sent.  “Take it and leave.”  “Amos is truly a sweetheart. Orianne, just go home immediately, okay? We don’t want a rocket taking this building down if you’ll stay for another few minutes”, her mother said. “Enjoy the rest of the evening, mother, father”, Orianne bid goodbye. She held her clutch with her other hand. The people around watched h

“You going out?”, Orianne asked after Amos came out of his room in a different casual attire. They had their dinner a while ago and now just enjoying the night. “The boys invited me for a drink at the shore. If you’re free, we’ll go together”, Amos answered while eyeing Orianne who is comfortably sitting beside the window in her silk robe while scanning through a magazine. “Hmm? They might become conscious of me and won’t enjoy the night. Enjoy the rest of the night, mister”, she said and smiled after. Amos scratched the back of his head and lowered his head. “Is that how we’ll be addressing each other then?”, he asked in a soft voice. He knew he started it all and just having his fiance ride on his joke made him realize how cheesy he was in that video. “Pardon?” “Nothing, miss. You can come

Orianne withdrew her hands from trying to choke him. She crossed her arms and stared down at Amos whose still looking sideways. “I didn’t know that pointing gun at a woman was your kind of fun”, she started and Amos was still silent. “Are you drunk?”, she asked as she tilted her head to catch Amos’ eyes but he just looked the other way.  Orianne was feeling how uncomfortable her knees were on the sand so she stood up and brushed the sand off. She also lifted her feet and shook them on air to remove the sand from her furry slippers. “I don’t tolerate the behavior you just showed a while ago. Even the other guys were injured. Get up and let’s go, not unless you want to sleep here tonight, then that’s fine too”, Orianne said before turning her back and started walking away.  She heard some movement behind bu

“He’s still in Italy?... He knows that you’re there, just keep him in watch… Yes, as much as possible…” Orianne just stood at the doorway while watching Amos answer his phone. Both of them were now dressed in their rush guards and just waiting for the yacht to reach Orianne’s favorite diving spot.  “Did you perhaps left things undone? Maybe this break is a bad idea”, she said and started walking towards the table where the wine and other bottle of liquors were placed. She sat on the sun lounger beside it before grabbing her glass of lemon juice. Amos started walking towards her when she noticed that his other arm was a bit off. Her eyes slowly turned to slits as he came closer and her glass of lemon juice was just stuck on her lips.  “It’s just my brother, nothing big that can make this break a bad idea”, he simply an

“So how was it?”, Orianne asked Hiraya when she entered the room holding the bride’s bouquet. Hiraya placed the bouquet in front of Orianne before proceeding to her back to help her with her hair. “I’m still alive and that’s all that matters. By the way, who will preside your wedding? I haven’t seen the priest.” “Oh, it’s a civil wedding. A judge will preside.” “A level two civil wedding then. All the preparations and just a small number of people are attending. A pin, please.” Orianne handed her the pin. “It’s just for formality’s sake. I need to be a Hachatrjan as soon as possible to end this show.” Hiraya didn’t say anything and just finished fixing her hair. “You better not fvck things up and end everything smoothly. You don’t want running away for the rest

“Miss de Santis is satisfied with the preparations so far, Lady K. She just requested about adding a participant for the cage fight and wants the identity to be confidential”, Awasis reported.Orianne stayed at the living room while Amos retired to bed early. “Who might that be?”, she murmured to herself. “As long as that person is no threat, Miss Awasis.” “Miss de Santis said that she’ll take responsibility if things get out of hand.”“Okay, then. Have the invitation sent out 48 hours before the opening, as usual. I will soon tell you when I’ll be returning.”“Copy that, Lady K.”Orianne closed her laptop before going to the counter to drink some water. She became alert after hearing some clanks somewhere. They were all listening to the conversation between Igor, the minister, the actor and her older brother’s secretary. They were allowed to listen to the audio but never record it and to not take a video.“Mr. Dmitri, my question still is, why are you in the need of possessing those research papers?”, the secretary asked.“Why did they even send you, an underling?
