Reyna Aniston is an aide, a healer who can control emotions. She should be a priceless treasure in the werewolf world, where most alphas can't control their temper. However, life didn't treat her well. After being mistreated, chained and confined by her alpha, she finally escaped and met a special Alpha, a dire wolf. Cain Covington who was imprisoned by the Order for murdering someone in an attempt of protecting his sister. His wolf went dire in prison, which gave the Order a chance to deem him ‘crazy’ and pushed him to the edge of losing his title as an Alpha. After meeting each other, Cain made a deal to mark Reyna as his mate so she could be saved from her miserable past. The deal was simple —— Once his wolf gets healed he will let her go, he said that with determination, as if all he wants from her is her special ability. What both of them couldn’t foresee was, a year later, he would head over heels for her and never want to let her go. Cain Covington saved a girl who in the end became his sole saviour.

Her father escorted her out of the lodge, down the patio and through the trees on the path that led to the artificial lake sitting in the middle of the forest. That was the spot where the two of them first realised that they were mates, both of them thought that the mating ceremony would be a lot more meaningful if they were to hold it there. As they walked past the last of the trees and entered the clearing near the artificial lake, she noticed that the rest of the pack was sitting on both sides of the aisle and at the end stood Cain together with Diskant who has very gracefully —— that was to say fought with the other enforcers to get the spot as Cain’s best man.
