“You did what?”Asher sighed. His Beta’s jaws was currently hanging off the floor. He had known Victor would strongly oppose, known also that Elise was one of the few creatures on this earth that managed to unnerve the life out of him. The woman creeps Asher out too, and once, maybe he’d liked the dangerous and sexy type. But he was literally a married man now and the only reason Elise would be coming to the pack was so that she can help find Kihara.“You invited her here? Twilight pack had gradually declined to a somber graveyard in the absence of it’s Luna. The halls bleak and lacking of color, every wolf felt the same bleakness inside of them, as though an emptiness had been carved in their hearts. More cruel was that they had no idea what to do. To mourn their Luna? For if she was dead, then that was the right thing to do. Or to hope? To dare look up to the moon and hope that she was still alive and that one day she would be returned? He felt like a broken man and no words needed saying as Brody looked over Asher. It was obvious that he’d not found Kihara, that he had failed in protecting his mate and now she was in the hands of a moon cursed wolf.“Come on Alpha, we’ll find her another day.” Brody said. Just not today, Asher thought. How was it acceptable that he came here with his mate and has to leave without her? Asher felt it rather than saw, from the distance of a still forming mate bond, his mate’s distress. He looked up, and that was when he saw the man that had introduced himself as Ajax with his mate. He’d knocked Kihara out and now she lay cold and unconscious in his arms. A growl tore through the air and earth. Asher’s eyes shivered with emotion, fear and anger. Ajax looked over his shoulders at him, and for once, that unsmiling, unfeeling face dissolved with a smile. He’d won.Without time to waste, and with Kihara in his arms, Ajax ran off the roads and into the mountains. His mate weighed nothing in his arms, and was hardly an inconvenience, or deterrent to his speed. Asher screamed with fury, the panic traveling up his throat, clogging his airways. Ajax’s men drew their weapons, axes and blades glinting in the air like the shine of cruel death. Leila turned to Kihara hastily. “Whatever you do, you’ll stay with me okay?” Kihara nodded, her hands tightening on her gun. I have this, she thought to herself, she ought to be fine. Asher from a few feet away glanced back at them quickly, he shared a look with Brody and Leila and they seemed to understand a they both nodded. To kihara, his eyes softened and seemed to tell, ‘be safe.’ Kihara nodded at him. She did not plan to let any of these men get close to her.And they were a lot of them. They were beyond outnumbered. The men were ordinary humans, and against a dozen well trained wolves were like an army of ants, but ants that they were, they crawled towards them from every angle, swarming in as if they could choke off the air. Sebastian listened quietly the messenger, a drink in his hand illuminating the colorful swirl of candlelight it captured. The messengers words echoed softly through his ear drums. After the man was done, Sebastian nodded. “You’re dismissed.”The man backed out of the room, his legs were about to cross the threshold when Sebastian called. “Don’t go back to the woods Jerry. I doubt that our boy will be anymore useful after today.”***Everything was set for their journey to Ever-moon. Transportation and envoy and the gifts Kihara had prepared for ever-moon waited downstairs while the Alpha couples exchanged swift words with each other.“You know why I worry Kihara, it is dangerous.” Asher was saying, the veins in his temples bulging as he emphasized on the word dangerous. Kihara had never been to the pack dungeon. She was not even aware that a place like such existed, but as it turned out, the underground bunker was not the only thing underground. The dungeon was built a bit off ways from the pack, the only thing that lead to it was well like construction with stairs. The dungeon wasn’t well kept, unlike many areas of the pack, because it was hardly used. Asher told kihara the last time it had been opened, it was used by his father, and now him, to lock up Justin.Kihara climbed down the narrow stairs that led down to the dungeon with her heart feeling heavy and in her throat, Asher right behind her. At the bottom of the stairs, the dungeon opened up to9 a big musty space. The air was hot and drier around here. Directly in the middle of the room, two iron cages sat beside each other, and Justin sat in one, on a stool, his hands and knees bound. Kihara’s honeymoon lasted three nights. Three good nights of no worries, three nights of forgetting that there was even anything to be worried about. It ended too quickly for her liking, but they needed to get back to their duties, and Kihara needed to start hers. The bodies they found in the woods had been buried properly. In the days Kihara and Asher remained completely indoors, the only time they opened their doors was to receive food, and in their absence, Victor had taken charge. He’d put off alerting human authorities about the bodies in the woods and for good reason. No human police would not believe that the work had been done by a pack of werewolves. It’d be like putting handcuffs on their own wrists and walking to the police station to be locked behind bars, not that any police bar or handcuff could hold a werewolf.
