The impression was so weird, that without saying that she had accepted his uncle's proposal to go to study at a business school in Miami, she left without saying anything that same morning. But that was not all, because she was the protagonist of another surreal scene. The weekend, when she arrived home for a visit after months. She found his mother pregnant, and that his parents had remarried.
When she confronted her uncle, with whom she kept in touch, but he worked on oil rigs in the middle of nowhere. He told her that he had been as surprised as she was, but that love had very strange ways of manifesting itself.
“Maybe that's why I'm alone!”.
Morgana remembered her uncle's words to him that day, after she had experienced that episode with Joe, she thought if she was going to follow her uncle's path.
She shook her head, and when she opened the door of his apartment he found Sultana, his dachshund. She had been given to him by Sergio, a very special friend she had, for Christmas.
“At least now you have someone to welcome you home when you arrive,” Sergio had told her, and since then the puppy had been her roommate.
When she opened the door, she immediately wagged his tail to greet her.
“You are the sweetest thing in my life!”, Morgana said, gesturing affectionately to the puppy.
She carried all her packages into her room, then went to the kitchen to serve Sultana some food and uncork the bottle of wine she was supposed to drink that night.
Taking two sips of her drink, she prepared her shower and a few minutes later, she immersed herself in the comfortable bathtub. She shook her head, as memories of her relationship with Joe came to her mind. She moved her hand, trying to catch the suds.
Morgana met him at a presentation of a company that was in charge of selling tires, she had prepared every detail from marketing, advertising, logistics, and every detail of the event. It had been her job for more than five years.
Joe was the nephew of the owner of Carson & Co, an advertising firm where Morgana had been recruited long before graduating from business school in Miami. From the moment they met, there was a lot of chemistry between them, but she wasn't looking for a relationship at the time. He was so insistent, however, that she finally gave in to a date.
Everything was going naturally between them until Joe began to have a very strange attitude toward her. It started with asking Mr. Carson for a job, so he could be closer to her. Then came the scenes of jealousy, in front of all the co-workers, and the last thing she could stand was his disrespect with offenses.
No one knew exactly what was going on between them, because no matter how much Joe boasted that they were together. Morgana always denied it, and that was something that put the man in a bad mood. Until her father got sick, he created a bond called: “debt”.
The situation became so unbearable, that she asked him for a week's vacation from her boss, with the excuse that she had to take care of her father. But the truth was that she needed a break from Joe.
Morgana knew he was a womanizer, and every time she found out about his affairs, she made excuses for him to stop bothering her. But the results were not favorable, quite the contrary. Joe claimed that she was the cheater, and played the victim in front of everyone. The pressure was so great that about four days ago she had collapsed.
She finished her bath, and minutes later began to dress. She had bought a dark-colored mini dress, tight to the body, highlighting her curvy figure. With floral lace, glitter design with bare shoulders, which left to the imagination how round and firm her breasts were.
She wore tall dark sandals, with a small platform comfortable for walking, and a heel of more than ten centimeters with crossed straps and with the detail on the ankle also in glitter. She accompanied her outfit with a pair of medium silver hoop earrings, as well as the simple chain that adorned her chest, and her feet with tiny rings on each of her middle toes.
Made up her eyes in a way that highlighted her amber eyes and long eyelashes, and used only a slight blush and a natural-looking lip color. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she was pleased with the result. She was pouting when her cell phone rang.
“You're ready, I guess”, was Lorena's greeting.
“Oh, yes I am!”, she giggled.
“So nice to hear it, because we are downstairs waiting for you”.
“Okay, let me a few minutes. Only I need to put some food and water for Sultana, and I'll be right there”.
“Perfect”.
The call ended, and Morgana went to get some of her perfume to finish dressing. Then she went to the kitchen, as fast as her shoes would allow.
“Sultana, come here!”, she screamed.
The little dog ran over to where her owner was. Morgana leaned over to pet her.
“Tonight I'm going to party,” the puppy was eating, as she continued to pet her, “Don't wait up for me, and that means you're in charge of the house. Don't think you can party in my absence, and especially don't invite sexy boys over while I'm gone.
“Good girl!” Morgana told her, getting up and blowing her a kiss, picked up her small bag on top of the breakfast bar, and walked to the exit.
As she closed the door, she took a deep breath, nothing could go wrong that night. Joe couldn't bother her anymore, with the pictures he had taken of her that afternoon in the company parking lot, she was sure he wouldn't bother her anymore.
“Tonight you're going to shine, Morgana, so smile!”
Beaming with joy, she went in search of her friend. A red wine-colored Pathfinder van was parked out front. She stopped in her tracks.
“Here,” Lorena rolled down the glass of the back window.
“Wooa,” said Morgana, “I didn't expect this”.
“Meet my friend, Albert,” Lorena's eyes showed excitement.
“Hey, nice to meet you,” she extended her hand, but something about the man didn't like it.
“Lore has told me a lot about you”.
The man's low voice made her feel like he was flirting with her.
“Great!” was all she said, as the driver closed the door behind her.
“You look very pretty tonight,” Lorena interjected. I just hope the idiot isn't there.
“What idiot are you talking about?” Albert wanted to know with a curious tone,
“A guy who isn't worth nothing” Lorena replied with disdain.
“Stop, Lore! I will not allow that man's shadow to ruin my evening”.
──────⊰·☆·⊱──────Arthur had a faraway look on his face, as he took a sip of his whiskey shot, letting the amber liquid run down his throat. He wanted a little break, after a busy day.“What a look on your face, man,” Micah said by way of greeting, at the same time patting his shoulder. He glared at the newcomer, then gestured for him to sit down next to him.“It's all bullshit,” he replied, shaking his head, and placing the empty glass on the bar counter.“What do you mean?” “When it's one thing, it's another,” Arthur shrugged. “Sometimes, even all together”Micah motioned to the barman to pour him a drink and join his friend.“What is it now?” He asked, before raising his drink and making a toast gesture.“Women!” exclaimed Arthur. “Some are a walking complication, but for some strange reason, necessary.”“All women?,” Micah questioned, motioning with his hands to put quotation marks, “Or are you referring to a specific woman? Because of that bad mood of yours, I take it you're ref
──────⊰·☆·⊱──────“Come on Arthur! I'm not the only one who enjoys a beautiful woman at his side”. He winked. There are others who get better benefits than getting in her lap.“You're a fucking bastard!” Arthur let out a laugh. On the latter, Micah was absolutely right. He owed his lifestyle and comfort to his group of friends who contributed to it. Chief among them was Jennifer. Who helped him acquire the penthouse at Gables Estates in Coral Gables. One of the most luxurious areas of Miami, and her BMW Eight Series Concept. According to what she said, it was one for her birthday, and the other for their relationship anniversary. Sometimes I thought that woman in his life weighed more than a shackle. In his relationship with the congressman's wife, not everything was so bad. In bed, she knew how to please him completely. There was a time when he thought he was completely in love with her. But knowing that she belonged to another man and that he was just a slip of the woman, made him o
──────⊰·☆·⊱──────Morgana had always been surrounded by gallant men, but like the man who had kissed her hand, she never thought it was possible. Such experiences only exist in romantic movies.«Oh my God, I’ve run into Mr. Darcy!»She scoffed, seeing Arthur’s theatrical attitude. Referring to the protagonist of the story Pride and Prejudice. Written by Jane Austen.“I feel a bit ignored,” said a voice.Everyone turned to see where the complaint came from.“This is my partner and friend Micah Sabag,” Arthur said, motioning for the Israeli to move a little closer to the group.“Sabag?” Albert gritted his teeth and held out his hand. “You're from the shipping company, right?”“Yes, I am,” he responded with a smile. The shipping company was one of Arthur's businesses, hidden from Jennifer. For that reason, Micah was the legal representative of the company.“I saw you at one of the merchants' association meetings a few months ago”.It could not be denied that Albert had a very good memor
──────⊰·☆·⊱──────Before Joe could retort rudely to her friend, Morgana decided it was time to do something, because the atmosphere was very tense.“I'll be back in a moment,” she informed them, taking advantage of a waitress coming in her direction to put the two glasses on her.“Where are you going?” Lorena asked very softly.“I'm going to the bathroom for a moment, I promise I won't be long”.She turned around before her friend could say anything. For the third time that night, she felt Joe's voice very close.“Morgana, don't think you'll get rid of me so easily, you little thing”.“Leave me alone!”“No way, babe. Don't dream it”, he said.“Piss off, Joe”.She practically ran out to the bathroom, as she closed the door she rested her head on the material, and placed her purse on her chest.«How could it possibly have come to this?!»«How did I fall into the clutches of this man?!»«What will I do now?!»She questioned herself, she couldn't afford a scandal. Lorena had been on the v
──────⊰·☆·⊱────── Morgana stood on the spot a little dazed, all she could do was look to the side, as if she felt a little insecure. The least she had expected was for the new acquaintance to introduce himself to her like that. “So?” Arthur asked again, waving his hands a little and squinting at her, “Do you want me to serve you as a cab or not?” She looked nervously to the side again, not wanting to give Joe a chance to find her, she made her way to the vehicle walking as fast as her six-inch heels would allow. She heard clearly the instant he lowered the locks. “Of course!” Morgana as she opened the door and quickly climbed in. “Anything to get out of here right now”. Arthur immediately started the engine of the luxury car, clicking his teeth as he looked in the rearview mirror and saw that the man who had tormented the woman next to him was outside looking for her. Then she let out a chuckle, the idiot, not even aware that he had taken her. «Imbecile!». For a moment there
──────⊰·☆·⊱────── He motioned to the young woman and led them to the table. It was then that he regretted it, for the right place that had been recommended to him was in the garden. It was true that they could see everything from there, and everything was newly remodeled. He had known the owner since he was a teenager, and he knew the quality of the food. But still, he thought he was giving him a bad impression, and that for Arthur was terrible. “Where did you hear about this place?” Morgana wanted to know, as they sat down at the table, and the waitress handed them the menu. Arthur felt a little uncomfortable. «How do I tell her I worked here on the weekends when I was in high school?» “One of my employees brought me here,” he lied. The truth was that he had helped the owner with all the improvements. “It was a very good choice…” Morgana looked to the side. “Arthur…” he finished, shaking his head and making a dramatic gesture, he added: “I can't believe you don't remember my n
──────⊰·☆·⊱──────Arthur was checking his computer and sipping a cup of coffee, when again he heard his cell phone ring.“Oh, Lordy! Doesn't this woman get tired!”, he exclaimed in a bad mood.He took a deep breath.“Tell me…”“Until you feel like answering my calls!”“Until you feel like answering my calls!” The woman's tone of voice was reproachful.“I was busy,” he replied seriously.“With what bitch this time?” she questioned angrily. The moment he heard this, Arthur clenched his jaw. At the same time, he clenched his fists and closed his laptop.“What the hell is going on with you, Jennifer?!”On the other end of the line, there was a gasp of surprise. Because the congressman's wife knew that when he called her by name. He was very upset with her.“It's just that I miss you, it's been a long time since we've seen each other”.“We had lunch together yesterday,” he reminded her.“You know what I mean,” Jennifer said after a snort, “You don't know how badly I want to misbehave”.Ar
──────⊰·☆·⊱────── «This is bullshit! It wasn't what I had in mind,» he said to himself, clenching his jaw. The two men looked at each other as rivals, although Arthur knew very well that it wasn't really, because, at the end of the day, the woman who was there with them wasn't his… And never would be. Watching him walk toward them, Jennifer gave a mischievous smile. “I'm glad you came,” he offered her a glass of champagne. “How could I refuse to have fun!” Arthur replied, showing his white teeth through one of the holes in the balaclava. The man with them said nothing, just took a sip of his drink, and nodded his head. Arthur didn't know why that encounter didn't look so good to him. “I'm pretty sure we'll have plenty here,” she smiled at the man who would be the third among them. Arthur went to the place with only one thing in mind, to persuade Jennifer of his idea to accompany her to Hawaii with her husband. And he didn't expect to find himself in the mood for a Ménage à troi
