Four days. It took four days for Cane's twin brother to gain consciousness.

Those four days were probably one of the darkness days this mansion had ever seen.

While the news of my lovely wife carrying my child make my heart skip a beat and my palms all sweaty from excitment, I wasn't able to enjoy it much at the expense of the constant threat that hung over her head. Especially now that Cane was no longer able to be by my side.

For the last four days, Cane refused to leave his brother's side, even after Doctor Morgan said that his life was no longer at risk and all he needed to do was give the wound time to heal and the man to wake up on his own.

We had to move Connor into another room, one with a more comfortable bed, and Cane hadn't left that room either.

He ate, slept in that room, never leaving even for a few minutes to shower, and I couldn't blame him.

I was extremely worried about him, though, since he hadn't said a word to anyone after that day.
