Chapter 33

It was rare for me to get flustered but his words threw me off guard. My lips pulled up in a smile and I wanted to laugh but I could not laugh. He was not joking. His eyes bore into mine with a resolute expression that made it clear he was serious.

The Luna Queen?

I could not stop myself from bursting into laughter. The absurdity of the idea made me laugh until my belly hurt. I clutched my stomach as I bent over, laughing until tears streamed down my face.

“Is it such an amusing idea?” Koa asked.

I raised my head in time to see his face contort with a weird expression and it only fueled my laughter. I laughed loud and long. I laughed until I had no breath in me and I was merely gasping for air. It took several minutes to get me to calm down and when I did, I wanted to laugh some more.

“I never thought of myself as a joker.” Koa gazed at me with a stoic expression.

“It must have been your hidden talent. Thank you for making me laugh so hard.” It had been a while since I laughed so
