“Who – who did this to you!” He yelled while managing to still sound choked. “Your wrists – what – who the hell did this?”

“Let go!” I tried to shake his hand off me but his grip was unrelenting. “Cassius, let go of me!”

“No – I – why are these ugly scars on your hands? Where did they come from?” I did not like how shaken he looked as he held my hands without letting go. “Persephone, who – where did they come from!?” He shouted.

The way his face contorted made my heart squeeze and then begin to pound. He looked like he had witnessed the world’s worst horror. Tears even filled his eyes and I could hear his heart pounding louder than mine.

“Cass, it’s no big deal.” I made my tone softer. “It’s just a scar I got when I fell into the rose bushes in the past,” I repeated Doctor Lorenzo’s diagnosis.
