Hello, Emilia

Eve's POV

"Wakey wakey. Breakfast is here." My ears flooded with Jade's voice and I grumbled in my sleep as she pulled the curtains aside, allowing the soft brightness of the morning sunlight to hit my eyes.

"Get up, already. Remember, it's convention day two."

"Fuck off, Jade." I cussed at her and heard her laugh as she sat on the bed beside me. The aroma of delicious pancakes and sausages wafted into my nose and my stomach rumbled hungrily.

"No, I won't. Plus, you won't believe who this breakfast is from."

"Go away." I wrapped myself around the duvet covers and tried to get back to sleep.

"Lycan Stefan. They're from Stefan."

My eyes shot open instantly and I brought down the duvet cover off my body. My eyes stared wide at Jade in disbelief. There was absolutely no way this could not be true.

"Are you kidding me?"

"No, I'm not." She picked a small note from the breakfast tray and handed it to me. Cautiously, I collected the handwritten note and read its brief contents.

Do you still hate the taste of garlic? I had to remind the chefs to add any in your breakfast. Eat well. See you at the convention, beautiful.

Beautiful? Did he just call me beautiful? And how did he remember I hated garlic? Why was he sending me breakfast too? Was this supposed to be some sort of joke to him?

"It seems the Lycan king is trying really hard to win you over again." Jade remarked and I eyed her terribly.

She laughed again.

"What? I'm just stating facts."

"That is complete bullshit, Jade." I rolled my eyes at her, flung the note away and got up from the bed. "He probably wants to ruin my life again after seeing that I am doing better than he thought I would be. But I'll never let him ruin me again. Never again."

"And what about breakfast? You should have some."

"You can have it or throw them away." I said to her, walking into the ensuite bathroom. If Stefan thought I was some toy he could play with, then he was wrong.

I was a villainess and more.

……….

After a couple of hours, Jade and I got dressed and ready to leave for the convention but while we took the elevator, the strap of my heels broke and I hissed in frustration.

"Shit." I cursed.

"Fuck. Your heels." Jade bent down to inspect it and shook her head helplessly as she did so. "I should've checked them before you wore them on. I'll go get you a pair of new ones."

She got up again but I stopped her from leaving.

"Don't worry about that. Go wait for me in the car. I'll get them myself."

"But, Eve…"

"Chillax, Jade. I can do my own things myself. You don't have to baby me all the time. Just wait for me in the car. I'll join you shortly."

Jade sighed with an air of surrender. "If you insist. But don't take too long. And watch out for your evil stepson."

I laughed at the mention of Vesper; the rogue son of the late Alpha I had gotten married to. Everyone knew of his hatred for me because his father had willed all of his inheritance to me. If he had his ways, I'd be long dead by now.

"I'll be right back." I walked out of the elevator and headed for our suite. When I approached the door, I tried to slide in the door pass and open it but I was surprised to see that it was already opened.

"I can't believe she was so careless to leave the door open." I kissed my teeth at Jade's negligence and pushed the door open, walking into it. But as I stepped into the room, I frowned slightly at the interiors of the room. It looked different from mine and just when I realized that I had entered the wrong room, another presence joined me from the bathroom.

Toned body and arms. Visible sexy six packs. Wet,  exposed torso and jet dark hair wet from the shower. It was the devil himself, with a small towel wrapped around his waist, staring at me with barely any expression written in his face. Stefan Heart.

"Oh my fuck…" I couldn't hold the words back as my eyes streamed his blissfully sinful body. It felt as though it was only yesterday when I had felt them hard and strong, over my body. He was too good looking to be real.

"What are you doing in my suite?" His voice broke me off from my trance and I blinked my eyes as I transported back into reality. I felt a wash of embarrassment through my entire body.

"I…I…uh, I mistook this room for mine." I stuttered and slapped myself mentally for stammering in his presence.

Get a grip of yourself, Eve!

"This is room eight. And your suite is room..."

"Nine. Shit." I suddenly realized how stupid I looked right now. How did I not even take a look at the room tags?

His lips lifted in a smirk and his eyes deepened the more as he stared at me like I was some toy he was trying to understand how it functioned.

"You curse now?"

"Am I not allowed to?" I crossed my arms over my chest, picking offense over his words. Did he still think I was still the eighteen year old Eve he used to know?

"Not really." He took a few steps closer to me. I was tempted to turn around and run away as he advanced closer to me but I couldn't even move my feet. It felt as though his presence held my feet stuck to the ground.

"I thought you were cute when you were naive and innocent. But I like you more now that you're a mixture of both naive and fierce. A peculiar breed."

He was barely an inch away from me now as he stood, towering over my small frame. God, how could someone be so good looking and evil at the same time? Why not make him look as ugly as his heart?

I sent him an incredulous look. "Who said I was still innocent? Stop deceiving yourself, my dear Lycan king."

He smirked again and my heart flipped as he did so. God help me so that I don't kiss this man if he smirked at me again.

"Actually, I do have a feeling that even though you put on a fierce exterior, you still have that shy innocence deep inside. It is already a part of you."

I sucked in a deep breath. He was annoying me now. "I am not innocent. Shut it."

"How about we put you to a test, then?" He took another step closer, finally closing the small distance between us. I could smell the scent of his lavender soap and see all the lines of his veins. I gulped, trying hard to get a hold of myself as he stood so close before me.

"What kind of test?" I found myself whispering back.

He brought his hand to my face and tucked a strand of loose hair gently behind my ear. When his finger brushed past my ear softly, I felt an electrifying feeling pulse through my entire body. The kind of feeling I hadn't felt for anyone else in the past eight years.

"First things first, how did you like the breakfast I asked to be delivered to you? Did it take you by surprise?"

"It didn't." I forced a glare at him. "Actually, it disgusted me. So, I threw them away."

He smirked again. Okay, this man better not let me do something to him that I'd spend the rest of my life regretting over.

"Innocent and fierce. A sexy combination too."

"Stop calling me innocent."

"Then don't try to stop me when I do this." He held me gently by the chin and brought his lips closer to mine. My heart thumped loudly inside my chest but I did not try to stop him even though my head yelled at me to do so.

But just as his lips were about to meet with mine, a pair of heels resounded as they walked into the room and angry, hateful eyes stared at the both of us.

"What the actual fuck?"

It was Emilia, Stefan's new mate. The same girl he had cheated on me with. I couldn't help sending her a small grin of satisfaction as she stared at me with a mixture of shock and anger.

"E…Eve?"

Without thinking twice, I circled my arm around Stefan's neck and crashed my lips against his in a kiss. It was a short, brief kiss that seemed to shock him too.

I broke the kiss and shifted my eyes back to Emilia, a triumphant smile on my face. "Oh, hello Emilia. I didn't see you there."

Nothing tasted better than sweet revenge. Well, maybe Stefan's lips but still…, it was a sweet revenge.

Way to go, Eve.
