2. Darls Collymore

"And the baby is just a mistake. Take it or leave it, Olivia. You are the ugliest woman who has ever spent time with me. Hate to say it, but you could never be my type,"

He concluded, a haughty snicker slipping from his lips.

Leaving Olivia with a pen and the weight of his demands, Mike abruptly left the room, venturing upstairs to collect her belongings.

"Why haven't you signed it yet? F*cking sign it and get the hell out of my house," He growled upon his return, his fury palpable.

Olivia felt both her heart and spirit crumble under the weight of his words and treatment.

She gripped the pen tightly, struggling to find the strength to wield it and sign away the shattered remnants of her dreams.

Mike turned around, and Olivia gasped as he suddenly turned back and grabbed her by the neck, squeezing the life out of her.

"Do you not understand what I mean? I hate seeing you. I can't tolerate your old-fashioned style.

I feel nauseous when I'm around you. You smell awful, and I want to puke.

Damn it, you're the ugliest woman to enter my life. And that useless bitch you are carrying with you in that God-forsaken womb of yours is the greatest and biggest mistake of my life,"

He spat, throwing her to the floor as if she were nothing more than a bag of trash.

Colliding against the center table, Olivia's body trembled with fear and fury.

In that moment, nothing mattered to her except protecting her child and standing up against any mistreatment towards them.

Tears streamed down Olivia's face as her stomach began to ache intensely. Choking on her pain, she struggled to speak up, but Mike's throaty laughter pierced through the air.

"You look so pathetic," he mocked, his eyes fixed on her pitiful state. "Only a simple fall, and you're already crying like a fool. You are a weak woman who can never match my standards."

With a contemptuous snort, he issued a final piece of advice, instructing her to leave his house before his return, threatening dire consequences if she didn't comply. He turned and stomped out, leaving Olivia shaken and furious.

"Mike," she called out, but the words refused to leave her mouth.

Dizziness consumed her as her head spun, and a sense of lightheadedness took hold. Although she attempted to stand, the pain in her lower body made it impossible.

Clutching her stomach, Olivia struggled to breathe. The timing couldn't have been worse; she couldn't afford to have an asthmatic attack at such a dire moment.

Darkness closed in on her vision, making it seem as if she were about to go blind.

Summoning all the strength she could muster, Olivia reached out and held onto a nearby chair, using it for support as she made her way to the vanity drawer in the living room.

Asthma attacks were rare for her, so she didn't carry her inhaler at all times. Instead, she kept one in the bedroom, study room, and living room.

Arriving at the vanity drawer, Olivia's legs gave way, and she lost her sight, enveloped in darkness. Guided by instinct, she managed to find her inhaler, uncapped it, and took several puffs.

Minutes later, her breathing began to steady, and her sight slowly returned.

Sweat covered her body, but the throbbing in her abdomen only intensified, causing her even more pain.

Tears mixed with her sweat as she realized she couldn't feel any part of her body. Numbness consumed her.

For the first time in her life, Olivia felt utterly helpless. She hadn't brought her phone downstairs, and Mike likely hadn't seen it as he had hastily packed her belongings.

Olivia's vision became clearer, and she wiped the tears from her eyes. She looked around the large sitting room and finally caught sight of the telephone.

She tried to get up from the ground, but the sharp pain returned, intensifying fivefold. Her eyes widened with shock as she saw blood trickling down her legs.

"No! My baby!" she screeched, her voice filled with desperation.

Despite the pain, Olivia summoned a surge of strength and limped towards the door.

She slammed it shut and hurried through the entrance, blood staining her nightgown, the pain growing more unbearable with each step.

Her asthmatic symptoms threatened to consume her as she reached the elevator.

Luckily, there was no one else in sight, and she swiftly descended to the ground floor.

As she entered the hallway, Olivia realized that there was no one around.

She continued limping towards the clinic located in the neighboring skyscraper, her nightgown soaked in blood.

Suddenly, her vision blacked out, her head spinning as she lost consciousness.

Only the sound of an approaching car horn pierced through the darkness before everything went silent.

Olivia's legs felt rooted to the ground, and she was unable to move.

The screeching sound of a car braking in front of her sent a chill down her spine, and a searing pain shot through her abdomen.

In the midst of her agony, she succumbed to unconsciousness, collapsing onto the ground.

Olivia peeled her eyes open, greeted by the sight of white walls surrounding her.

The familiar scent of disinfectant filled her nostrils, and her vision, slightly blurry, struggled to focus on her surroundings.

"You are finally awake," a soothing male voice said.

Turning her head towards the source of the voice, Olivia squinted to make out the figure before her.

It took a moment, but she soon recognized the blurry sight of the man she never thought she would encounter - Darls Collymore, the CEO of Darls' Enterprise and Mike's biggest business rival.

Darls stood up and made his way to the water dispenser, grabbing a disposable cup and initiating the flow of water.

With a sly smile on his handsome face, he walked back towards Olivia.

"I just used the alarm button and informed the doctors that you are awake. They'll be here soon. In the meantime, have this," he said, extending the cup of water towards her.
