Chapter 2 : Favorite Lecturer Vs Favorite Student

Giselle's POV

I stepped out of the car in an angry mode. My mother-in-law has always been on my neck about getting pregnant. And now, it's getting frustrating and annoying.

Just this morning, where my husband was congratulating me for my new promotion as the new lecturer in one of the most prestigious universities in Australia.

She came down out of her room to give me a choking load of insults, calling me a barren. And my ‘always busy' husband, as usual, sat down there and didn't do anything to stand up for me.

I have been to their school before, so I know where my office was. My body was full of rage and I needed to vent my anger, but I do not know the direction.

I was still striding to my office when I heard a voice behind me.

“Hello, good morning ma'am,” I turned to my side and saw a young guy.

From his dressing, he looks to be a student as he carries his school bag on his left shoulder. He looks cute no doubt, but I wasn't really in the mood for all these.

“Morning,” I responded flatly and was about to walk away when he stopped me again. I was about to snap at him when I heard his apology.

“Uhmm. I am sorry for disturbing you….” Interrupted him as a matter of fact tone.

“Yes, you are,” I affirmed and he scratched the back of his head.

He looked really nervous and his face was red, as if he was blushing. I was about to leave when I heard him introducing himself.

“I am Bryan Lopez. One of the students you will be taking, it's nice having you with us ma'am,” he said out in a rush and that made me raise my brows.

'I didn't ask for all these, did I?’ I wondered.

Since he said he was one of my students, scolding him will also be part of discipline.

“Isn't it too early to be lagging behind, Mr. Lopez?” I lectured and he pressed his lips in a thin line.

I checked out his outfit and a hint of amusement shone in my eyes when I noticed the brand of his sneakers but I was quick to hide it.

“Excuse me,” I muttered and walked away.

I was more than shocked when he stopped me again. This really got me pissed.

'What's wrong with everyone this morning?’ I thought inwardly.

“I wanted to help ma'am. Nothing else,” he said respectfully, gesturing his hands to the two bags I carried.

I sighed and responded, “I don't need your….” he interrupted me.

“No, that would be very rude of me to stress a gorgeous lecturer like you,” he said and I raised a brow.

'Is that how he was to all of his lecturers?’ I wondered.

I contemplated before giving my laptop bag to him. I realized that if I should say no, he will insist on helping me. He smiled brightly revealing his one sided dimple.

I only nodded at him and we walked away. He was trying to meet up with my fast pace but soon, he was walking faster than I was. I could only sigh.

I heard him clearing his throat and I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me that he wanted to strike up a conversation between us.

A knowing smile formed on my lips, most handsome guys are known to be proud and egocentric. But he didn't show me that side of him, I find him nice and clingy at the same time.

“What did you want to say?” I asked him and his face beamed when he looked at me.

‘Is he always blushing?’ I thought.

“Not really, ma'am. Actually I just wanna tell you about my school. The atmosphere here is peaceful and soothing. That shed over there…” he paused as he pointed to a shed and I nodded at him.

“... That's the favorite spot of most lecturers. You can get to see students walking around and smile when you see something you have done before. After all, you were once a student like us,” he asserted and I don't know when I began laughing.

“Maybe. I hope I like it here,” I said and he responded immediately.

“Nope, it's ‘love’. You will surely love it here. We are all brilliant so you don't have to worry about students giving you headaches,” he continued and I chuckled.

“Wow, you seem so sure,” I commented.

“That, I can promise you,” I nodded at him.

“What's your name again?” I asked, looking at him.

“Bryan Lopez. But you can call me Bryan, addition of Mr. Lopez will create boundaries,” he said and a frown lines formed on my forehead.

“I don't quite understand you. Isn't that how I am meant to address you?” I asked him.

“Yes, I know that. But I wanna take you as my favorite lecturer and I want you to take me as your favorite student,” he offered and I couldn't help but chuckle.

“Pass my course. If you can, I will see to that,” I asserted and his eyes shone.

“Really? Are you sure about this ma'am?” He asked and I nodded with a smile.

“Too small, I mean, that's a piece of cake for me to tackle,” he said with determination and I could only keep smiling. He was one hell of a drama.

We arrived at my office and I wanted to collect my bag from him but he didn't give it to me.

“I am here already, so just hand it over,” I said.

“If I am assisting you. Then I have to do it completely, I will help take this into your office. Your hands are full already,” he responded and I sighed.

I opened the door and walked in with him behind me. I dropped my bag on my desk and turned to look at him, his eyes were everywhere.

When our eyes met, he looked flushed and muttered an apology before dropping the bag on my desk.

“See you in class, ma'am,” he smiled at me and I returned it.
