Chapter 1 : New Lecturer

Bryan's POV

I alighted from the car and headed to my lecture hall. This past week has been really tough for me personally.

As usual, a lot of girls were ogling at me as I walked past them to my lecture hall. I began hearing a distant voice, calling out to me.

“Bryan!” I looked behind and saw Ivy, my ex girlfriend, running towards my direction. I groaned and didn't wait for her, I began walking at a fast pace but she still met up with me.

“Bryan,” she whined as she held my wrists and I gladly yanked my hand away from hers.

“Can you just stop?!” I snapped at her, clearly displeased at her nagging.

“No! How can I stop? Who breaks up with his girlfriend without a genuine reason? I love you and I am sorry if I have done something I was not aware of…. Baby, I'm sorry,” she tried getting close to me but I pushed her away slightly.

“Ivy, please stop this. This relationship isn't working anymore, for the sake of both of us. It is better to end it now before it hurts further,” I explained and she began tearing up.

“W-Why? A lot of girls on campus are jealous of me and now you want to end things with me and make me a laughingstock, huh?” She asked amidst her tears and I rubbed my forehead tiredly.

“Ivy, it's too early for this. We both have a class to meet up with, please not now. And as for this relationship, it is better you accept it now. We are done,” I emphasized and tried walking away but she blocked my way.

“Bryan, I will do anything. Please, give me another chance. I don't know how I have offended you, you can't just be cold to me without a reason. Or….” Her voice trailed off and I looked up at her, raising my brows.

“Do you love someone else?” She asked and I shook my head in amusement.

“I don't have to love someone else before I break up with you. Don't stop me, Ivy,” I warned and walked away from her but she didn't stop whining.

I was still amidst my frustration at her whining and I momentarily paused in my tracks, my mouth went agape and my heart fluttered in my chest.

She wore a green pants trouser and a full sleeve yellow top. Her strides scream confidence and elegance. It was really dumbfounded at her beauty, I felt butterflies in my stomach and soon, I began blushing.

“She is the new lecturer that will be replacing Dr. Tee, she will be taking us as well,” Ivy explained beside me and I was snapped out of my thoughts.

“She is our lecturer?” It was more of a question than a statement. Ivy nodded with a bright smile on her face, I realized that mistake I made. I shouldn't have asked her any questions.

“Hmm,” I hummed in response and walked away from her but she stopped me again.

*Bryan, please, give me a last chance. I promise never to disappoint you again. Please,” she continued pleading and I was getting frustrated at her.

I abruptly stopped in my tracks and faced her, she looked taken back, she wasn't expecting me to stop in that manner.

“If I tell you the reason, will you allow me be?” I negotiated and she contemplated before nodding weakly.

“Hold on, can I still apologize for it?” She asked in a lower tone. That made me hissed and I stormed away from there.

“Brya…” I swiftly turned and glared at her.

“Are you dumb?! You are embarrassing me, young lady. When I said it is over, that I mean it. So just stop this nonsense and allow me to be!” I vented before storming away.

I breathed a sigh of relief and jog-walk closer to the new lecturer. For unknown reason, I felt this sudden pull towards her.

My heartbeat quickened as I got closer to me. She looked upset so I was being conscious of how to approach her.

“Hello, good morning ma'am,” I greeted in a cheerful tone.

She turned and looked at me. I was marveled at how beautiful she looked. Her hair was behind her back, she has an oval face with a small pointed nose. Her lips looked inviting, which had lip gloss on.

“Morning,” she responded flatly and was about to walk away when I stopped her.

“Uhmm. I am sorry for disturbing you….” She interrupted me.

“Yes, you are,” she affirmed and I scratched the back of my head.

I didn't know what to say and I wanted to talk to her. I racked my brain for what to say and something finally crossed my mind.

“I am Bryan Lopez. One of the students you will be taking, it's nice having you with us ma'am,” I blurted out what came to my mind.

She looked puzzled and I chided myself for not practicing my words before approaching her.

“Isn't it too early to be lagging behind, Mr. Lopez?” She lectured and I was tongue-tied. She gazed at me from head to toe before saying flatly.

“Excuse me,” she muttered and walked away but the devil within me pushed me to stop her again.

She was about to snap at me when I found my voice.

“I wanted to help ma'am. Nothing else,” I said, gesturing my hands to the two bags that were with her.

“I don't need your….” I interrupted her.

“No, that would be very rude of me to stress a gorgeous lecturer like you,” I said, and my eyes widened when I realized what I had just said.

She contemplated before giving her bag to me. I was more than glad that she finally gave him, I smiled at her as we walked together.

She looked to be in thoughts and that made me swallow my saliva. Out of instinct, I felt someone's gaze on me, I turned and found Ivy, she was still rooted at the same spot.
