Logan Was this what it felt like to be a dad? When I held my sons, I felt pride, joy, inexplicable love for these little minions who hadn't let me sleep in days. Logan We had arrived in our home and stationed our vehicles in the dark woods just outside the pack borders. Tyler and Keaton were looking at the number patrols surrounding the pack's border and, thankfully, they weren't so many of them. He had informed us through the mind-link that Grainne had changed the patrol team. That was what I expected. I mean, if she had let the patrol wolves take care of the pack’s security, then she would make it easier for us. It had taken them so long I was worried. Tyler We moved toward the direction of the south of the pack. I was in wolf form and Keaton in human form, killing the hounds that posed a threat to our lives. I could still hear Logan’s voice in the mind-link. Don't kill anyone. I wouldn't get killed in battle because I was feeling generous. If they as much tried to raise a finger at me while we both negotiate keeping their lives. I would kill them without thinking twice. Grainne I emerged from the pack house with Adelyn and the kids. I had gotten intel from Jacinthe that Logan and his men had invaded the territory. Shit was about to go down and the first thing I had to do was get pregnant Adelyn and the kids to safety. And the only safe place I could think of was the elder woods. They would be no reasoning with Logan if he found me. But that didn't mean I'd just submit to him. I'd fight until there was no strength left. Logan It was over. The last thing I recalled was Grainne resisting my alpha aura. I was in a hospital with a bandaid wrapped around my stomach and head. Frey The morning sunlight splashed into the room when I parted the velvet curtains to the apartment. Trust me, the babies gave me a hard time last night, and we barely got some sleep. I wondered if I cried as much while my father and mother raised me. My mother. I wondered why she didn't show up at the battle. Or had she just disappeared out of the blue? Logan Hounds never attack in groups. The sound of the warning bell reverberated through the territory, and I shot into a sitting position. Cautioning Frey about the hound attack, I moved to my weapon compartment and pulled out a crossbow and a quiver of arrows. This was the perfect time to put the skills I learned from pack training to good use. I emerged through the entrance of the pack house and met three ragged wolves approaching. I shot the first wolf. The second and third plummeted toward me. My fur tore through my body and I leapt toward them, shifting into a large black furred wolf. We stumbled down the stairs, and I landed a heavy blow at the other wolf's jugular. I dragged him away as his blood splashed on my fur and coated the earth.
