“Ugh, I’m never drinking again.” I hold my head back as I take the pills Rhea slipped under my dorm door this morning.

My memories were slowly coming back to me and I started to remember events that happened.

After I was woken up by a knock on the door at 6 in the morning, I quickly put on my clothes from the night before and woke up Caleb instructing him to do the same.

Luckily, we were able to wake up the rest and make it back before the routine checks by 7 a.m.

Once I got back, I immediately changed into comfortable clothes and took another nap.

It was currently 1 pm and I just finished decorating my room and showering. I went down to the cafeteria for food and thankfully only ran into the girls.

“Hey, Ava.” Rhea greeted and it was safe to say we all looked like shit.

“What’s up?”

“A massive headache is what’s up.” Veronica rubbed her scalp with her hand.

“Mine has really gone down though. Thanks for the pills, Rhea.”

“You didn’t give me any pills.” Veronica countered.

“Well, I thought Connor would have given you.” she shrugged.

“Speaking of Connor, where are the guys?” I asked.

“They had an all-boys therapy session to get to.”

I needed to speak to Caleb about last night.

“Also, Rhea wanted to know how you know the guy that dropped us off yesterday?” Veronica asked with Rhea at her side giving her the stink eye.

“What?!”

I chucked a little at their exchange before replying “His name is Justin, he’s 23 and I met him when I worked for his dad. Oh, and he’s single.”

The last sentence made her grin a lot. Looks like Rhea’s got a crush.

We continued to eat our food with little comments being made here and there.

“So where exactly did you go after the fight broke out, Ava? No one saw you until this morning.”

“Caleb was making sure I was okay. We camped in one of the rooms.” I wanted my answer to be as vague as possible.

“So both of you slept together on the same bed?”

“I mean, we slept together but we did not sleep together.” I tried as much as possible to use my tone to describe the actions. I don’t know why but I just wasn’t comfortable with them knowing about my sexual life. Any part of my life, really.

“Oh good, because everyone knows he’s a player who can’t ever stick to one person. Its just Caleb for you.”

A guy with blonde highlights on his hair walked by our table and instantly reminded me of Levi. I also needed to talk to him to thank him about yesterday.

“So what’s up with Levi? He doesn’t talk much?”

“No, he just needs time to warm up to people. He has a very hard time trusting people and sincerely, I don’t blame him.” Veronica says.

Why am I getting deja vu right now?

“Why? What happened?”

“It is…definitely not my story to tell.” She stood up with her tray walking towards the trash can and Rhea followed.

“See you later, Ava.”

Why was I such a slow eater?!

“So as after class work, let's all think about two people that we can say we trust wholeheartedly. Next class, we’ll review it.” Mr Hobbs who was the general therapy teacher said.

We had the general therapy classes twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays.

On my way out, I spotted Caleb speaking to a random girl and Levi a little in front of him.

I interrupted once again, as usual.

“Later?” He winked at her and she walked off.

Why was he obsessed with winking??

“Hey, beautiful.” He nodded at me.

“Hey. Going straight to the point—“

“You wanted to talk about last night?”

“How did you..?

“I mean, it’s pretty obvious. Plus I’ve been in a lot of these.” I forgot he was a player for a second.

Well, apart from how amazing it was, I really don’t want anyone to know about it. I would like us to keep it to ourselves.”

“So it was amazing?” he raises a brow going off topic completely.

“Caleb….I’m serious.”

“Yeah, yeah, you don’t want anyone to find out we fucked. It’s cool.”

“Glad to know we’re on the same page.”

I smiled at him and walked faster to catch up with Levi.

“Hey, Levi.” He kept walking forward, not even sparing me a glance.

“Could you hang on for a second; I’m trying to have a conversation with you.” I stood in front of him with a small smile on my face.

“What's up?” He stopped but still wasn’t looking at me.

“Well, I wanted to say thank you for defending me yesterday. You basically manhandled the guy and his idiot friends.” I didn’t even notice anything but I know he took on about four guys himself from what Rhea told me.

“It’s no big deal. He was a pervert and I hate perverts.” After that, he walked off to God knows where.

His mysterious demeanor only intrigued me more and I found myself wanting to make him open up to me.

Right when I was about to head back, I heard my name on the intercom.

“Ava Collins, to the reception immediately.”

I went up to the reception desk and was told I had a guest but I had no idea who it could be.

I was searched thoroughly before I was allowed into the visiting room. There was a glass wall dividing both sides and a small compartment where you could pass items through.

After I got sat down, they brought in the visitor who I didn’t recognize. He wore a suit and looked in his late 20s.

“And you are…” I asked.

“Who I am isn’t important. It’s who you need to know.”

“And who would that be?”

“Ford Clinton, brother of Zade Clinton; who you murdered in cold blood.”
