"Let me out of here! Somebody help me!." Ariel yelled but no one was hearing her words or listening to her. While Ariel was busy knocking on the door, a pair of sapphire blue eyes made their way toward her.
Pushed into a dark room without anyone to listen and help her, Ariel shrank down in size. The fear and anxiety she had been trying to hide from others a while ago, hit her a hundredfold.
"Let me out of here, can't you hear me? What is this place, what the hell is going on here." Ariel continued banging but it all fell on deaf ears, the men outside refused to listen to her plea. Instead, they prayed in their hearts that their master loved the girl.
Ariel stifled when she felt the air behind her changing, she turned around, her eyes met with the sapphire blue eyes staring back at her and she turned into a mumbling mess. "W.. what are you..u doing...g? Please let me go, I am so scared. Ple.a...se d.. don't hu... at me."
Ariel pleaded bending her head, Dylan's eyes narrowed on the woman who was busy begging like he was going to eat her up. Although he felt he was burning and hot, he could still control his urges pretty well.
"Please, I will pay back your money. If it's money you want then I will pay it back, my mother is still recovering." Ariel pleaded with tears running down from her eyes.
"Money? Why would I want money? I already have that." Dylan replied but Ariel was lost in her pleas that she could not make out his words.
Dylan rolled his eyes, he considered women a nuisance and he just met one but this one looked slightly less annoying. "You can spend the night here, I won't lay my hands on you. Spend the night on the bed, I will sleep on the couch."
"You do not have to pay me money for doing you a favor but whenever I ask for a favor in the future you have to return it," Dylan said turning around to leave from there, returning into the darkness.
"What do you mean sir? I have to get back to work, I cannot spend the night here. I am so scared, please let me go back to work. The manager won't be pleased if he finds me missing from work." Ariel pleaded thinking more rationally, Dylan's words sank into her mind.
Ariel's fingers held onto her clothes and she squeezed them hard.
"You don't have to worry about the manager, I will speak to him. Get your clothes off and lay down on the bed right now, I won't touch you."
"You just have to pretend something happened between us and then you will be paid, 10 times higher than you get paid here," Dylan remarked tugging at the neckline of his shirt to get rid of the heat he was feeling.
"Really? 10 times more?" Ariel's ears stood straight immediately she heard the amount, it would be enough to pay for her mother's hospital bills and also pay off the debts she owed.
"Yes." Dylan gave a one-word reply taking a seat on the couch that was placed right opposite the bed.
Ariel thought about it for a while, she gazed at him before agreeing and getting on the bed. It was not going to hurt her dignity so she was willing to get the job done, her mother's health was her top priority and nothing else.
"I see you have agreed. Get on the bed then." Dylan remarked gesturing towards the bed, Ariel immediately rushed into the bed. She took off her clothes in the bed and covered herself with the bed cover.
She pondered in thoughts for some time before letting herself get lost in sleep, she slept off on the bed without a single guard around her.
Outside the door, the guards could not hear anything from within the room but they paid no heed to it. As long as the master was satisfied then it was none of their business, while they were busy sighing in relief a luxuriously dressed woman walked towards them.
"Where is Dylan? Grandpa sent me here to meet with him, I would like to see him. Get out of the way." Charity muttered taking off her shades, the short gown she put on hugged her curves in the right places.
"The master is already asleep, he ordered us not to let anyone in ma'am. Miss you have to come back, I am afraid we can't go against the orders of our master." The head guard muttered coming to stand in front of the door with two others.
Charity clicked her to give in anger, she turned pissed off. She raised her hand and a slap came directly flying at the guard's face.
"What did I say about talking to me in that manner? I have said it times without number that I am the next matriarch, I am equal to your master but how dare you speak to me in that manner?"
Charity said in anger glaring at the guard, she prided herself on being the only child of her father and a heiress to lots of buildings but here these guards spoke to her like she was a nobody. She felt the urge to call her father but that would be her, acting like a child.
The head guard still had a rigid look on his face despite the slap he received from Charity, he stepped forward and moved closer to Charity. Charity glared at the guard with resentment in her eyes, Charity felt frustrated. She had finally convinced the old man to do this and now her plan was getting ruined.
"I understand your words miss, but before you become our matriarch. The current head of the family is our master, we only take orders from him and no one else. Please pardon us miss, can you please leave? The master won't like it if he gets awoken by the noise.
"I understand your words miss, but before you become our matriarch. The current head of the family is our master, we only take orders from him and no one else."" Please pardon us miss, can you please leave? The master won't like it if he gets awoken by the noise." The head guard remarked.Charity's frown deepened, her fingers turning into a fist in anger "Are you trying to say I am making a noise here? Are you calling me a nuisance right now? It seems you don't value your job so well, it seems you want to get fired right now." Charity growled in anger.Worry appeared on the faces of the other guards, offending the young miss was like asking for trouble."Please young miss don't get angry. He is just trying to tell you that, you should please return. We will inform the master once he wakes up that you came here." One of the guards chirped in trying to save his superior."Yes young miss, we will tell the master of your visit when he wakes up. You do not have to get angry, we will put i
Dylan frowned at the questions, the bites he was getting from the little woman he was hugging to himself didn't give him any chance to think either."She is my Fiancee," Dylan said without second thoughts, he placed his free hand on Ariel's head and patted her head softly. He tried to soften his expression a bit to show he was not lying, he tried to act a little bit affectionate with Ariel, and at the same time, he tried to stop her from biting him. "Is this true? Is she your fiancee? Then what about Miss Charity?""Miss Charity says you are her fiancee and also you are going to be getting married soon. Are you trying to say Miss Charity is lying?""Mr. Dylan, is this woman your fiancee? If she's your fiancee then why don't you show her face to the world? Why are you trying to hide her identity.""What family does she belong to? Which family is she from? What university did she attend? Is she an heiress too like Miss Charity?" The reporters asked another batch of questions immediately
"There is no need for that Grandpa, I already brought home my fiancee. Or rather my wife, the woman I chose to marry is right here.""Gary you don't have to find the information, I will provide you with everything you need. Grandpa." Dylan muttered in a not-so-bothered voice, if the old man was furious previously then he was fast and furious now."You scoundrel of a grandson that I have. How dare you! I arranged for you to spend time with Miss Charity but you choose to do as you wish, you even got a fiancee too.""Just kill this old man, you do not respect him anymore. Someone get me a knife, my grandson wants to kill me." Dylan's grandpa yelled loud enough to gain everyone's attention, acting like the attention seeker he was.Ariel shrank back and hid behind Dylan when the old man screamed, she shivered like a little turtle. Scared by the screams of the old man. "You scared my fiancee, Grandpa. I mean my soon-to-be wife.""Why did you set up a date with Miss Charity? I clearly stated
Dylan held Ariel's hand and started to leave, walking out of the classy European-styled mansion. Ariel could feel the hateful glare of Dylan's grandfather and the other people around them. 'Am I doing the right thing? Is this not a mistake? Who knows what this people are capable of doing to me?' But then she looked up at Dylan, and seeing the determined expression on his face, her mind was reassured a little bit. He looked like he would protect her no matter the odds. She remembered him as someone she used to know, but not who he was to her. "Dylan Grey! If you step out of this house, don't even bother coming back! You have defiled me and everyone in this family you hold dear by being with that woman!" Dylan stopped when he heard that, but he did not turn to look at his grandfather. Dylan's Grandpa smirked, believing his words had finally reached Dylan. He thought his words scared Dylan. "That's right, son. If you insist on marrying that woman, fine. You can go ahead, but I will
As Ariel, Dylan, and Paul drove to the hospital, Ariel's heart beat rapidly. She could not believe how fast the situation had developed, from having to spend the night in the room of an unknown man to finding out that this unknown man could be the father of her child. She sighed heavily and noticed Paul staring at Dylan.Dylan made funny faces at Paul, making Paul giggle happily. Now that she saw them up close, she realized they resembled a lot. They had the same eye color, the same type of hair, and the same skin texture. They looked so much alike it was hard to believe.Yet, Ariel could not get her hopes up. He could not be the father, after all. After all, the mansion was a big one, and any man, even the butler, could have been the man she had a one-night stand with. She had always wished she could find Paul's father as she didn't want him to grow up without a father like she did, but she had resigned herself to fate already when she had been mercilessly chased out of the house by
"I don't know, Dylan. This feels too odd to me. I'm not sure I can marry you.""Think about it. I will make it worth your while. It will just be for a year. It's to put my grandpa off my back for some time. We won't interfere with each other's affairs throughout the marriage. We will live in separate rooms, have separate lives, and only be married by name. And it will be for a year. After a year, we'll have a divorce and go our separate ways. But I'd still be fully responsible for Paul, my son."Ariel looked down, avoiding Dylan's eyes. The offer was very tempting. She did need money, and Dylan was offering her any amount. Any amount she needed. He was rich, so he'd surely fulfill her request. But could she do this? Could she get married to this man? A man she had only met, maybe twice? It didn't matter if he was the father of her son. He was a total stranger to her."You don't have to give me an answer today. You can think about it and give me an answer whenever you're ready. Here's
For as long as Ariel could remember, she had always worked in one job or the other. And they all didn't pay well because of her limited education and the usual exploitation of the poor by the rich.Ariel had once worked at a coffee shop, as a sales girl in a supermarket, as a delivery girl, as a nanny, as a maid, and now as a sales clerk. When she worked as a maid at Dylan's mansion, it was to get money for college since her parents could not afford it.But it had ended in her getting pregnant and being kicked out after she had made a drama there.Ariel sighed heavily. Her parents had separated when she was in high school. She still remembered how turbulent those days had been. Her parents hated each other to the core and just wanted to kill each other. They were also very irresponsible, and Ariel had had to work at a café shop to provide for the family's needs after that time.It had only been recently that she and her mother had started to get along. She hated her before because sh
Esther said nothing, simply staring down at her feet.Ariel walked out of the kitchen."Wait!"She stopped and looked back.Esther came out of the kitchen, looking at her with wary eyes."Can you give me a dollar? I haven't eaten anything since yesterday night, you see?""Why? I cooked food when I returned had there's still food in the pot.""Well…""Well, what?"Esther remained silent."Alright, fine!"Ariel took some money from her purse and gave it to her mother."Use it to buy what you want to buy. I know you will still spend it on booze anyway," she said."Thank you so much, daughter! I will repay you as soon as possible!"Ariel scoffed."I'm serious," said Esther, " I promise to pay you back! I'll get a job and pay you all the money you have given us!""Hmmm," Ariel said and walked out of the house. Her mother was not deceiving her but herself. She had been saying she would get a job now for five years, yet did nothing to do so. All she did was wait for her to get her paycheck
