Thirty-Two

I sat in a well-ventilated lecture hall, which had a presenter's voice droning on about the importance and role of the Lycan luna. Sitting attentively, I fixed my gaze on the speaker, while Natalia dozed beside me, her scarf covering her face.

"As Luna, you must understand the value of diplomacy," the presenter explained. "You must learn to cooperate with the alpha and never make decisions on your own."

With Adonis possibly choosing me, I had to be prepared and understand what I was getting myself into. I was even taking notes, hoping to absorb every word and detail.

I wondered what it was like to be the alpha's mate. Will I have real power, or will I simply be a figurehead?

To think I was changing from spectator to potential alpha mate. It was intimidating to think about.

The presenter interrupted my thoughts. "What's going on? Were you all given sleeping pills or something? "Everyone on your feet," she ordered, ringing the bell.
